got 3 points on mine, within 2 months of passing my test. Was on my first distance ride, up to Essex, got lost and was looking at road signs for directions, jsut follwed traffic along, didn't know the area or limits Sad Got caught doing 40 instead of 30, roads are different up there :S Ironic ting is, my mate has been riding almost 2 yrs now, rides like a madman, always speeding, yet never caught, he couldn't belive it when i told him I had been done Razz

6 points - both in my car.

97mph on the M5, stopped by the Gloustershire armed response unit. Shocked

And flashed by a camera jumping a red light...which had been red for 0.1 seconds! Confused

I drive my car carefully now, but am still somewhat loony on my bike Mr. Green

I've not got a single point yet I've been flashed by several speed cameras.

Also went through a red light as I couldn't stop quick enough, doing 80mph on an 50mph dual carriageway.

Didn't actually know you could get points for going through red lights, by those little cameras.

The most I've ever had was 50 points on my licence at one time, but we have a different system over here, 100 points within 2 years = a 3 month ban. No points in 2 years and all existing points get wiped.

looking at the poll I'm amazed how many people don't have points. Maybe I've just been unlucky with my 6 points, both in my car, 1 doing 90 on the M42 and another doing 42 up a steep hill which is very wide and empty by a mobile camera. Both were really annoying as they both happened when I was driving normally and were not dangerous in any way. If I was thrashing about then I'd deserve it but in this case it wasn't. Show's how camera's do not necessarily help safety.

Just out of interest when you get 12 points what happens? you get banned I guess but for how long and do you have a clean licence afterwards?
