Go buy one!! I bought a DT125X last November and i've had nothing but fun ever since!

They handle brilliantly, turn on a sixpence, they do about 60mph restricted, accelerate very quickly, are very reliable, and the fuel consumption is great!! Oh and they look great as well!

10/10 from me Thumbs Up Mr. Green Thumbs Up

p.s. no one is seeing a pic of mine until i clean it because it's filthy Embarassed

Mine is an 05 model, but i haven't done anything to it yet. I'm not allowed to de-restrict it as i'm only on L Plates Sad and the only other thing i'll probably do to it is tart it up with extra blue bits and put some tyre flies on it - nothing technical Laughing

It's an all round great bike though. Great fun, nippy, springy, very light, fast and it doesn't sound too bad for a 2-stroke either.

Thanks! Thumbs Up

Oil wise, if i fill it up completely it will last me about 400 miles. I guess that's average for a 2-stroke? And i've been informed by my boyfriend that the fuel consumption is average too - i thought it was good... but then again this is the first bike i've owned and i've got nothing to compare it to in that way Smile

/edit: it will also do 100mph derestricted Thumbs Up

100mph Shocked Confused

Ive read many forums, inc this one and every single one has said that a de-restricted DTx 05 etc will do 85mph! Thats with the front green/black wire earthed (which de-res's the p/v and speedo) and with a (full) DEP system on it!

Have you got proof of 100mph?? Thats close to RS speed Shocked Laughing

Thanks, rgrds Adam! Thumbs Up

Yeh, i have no doubt about that! But if its a 05 model and shes done no mods to it, should't it be like any other 05 DTx?

Cheers, Thumbs Up Laughing

dt125x is basically the same as the dt125r but there are differnces ass said above here they are

Different wheels obviously Laughing
dt125x has brembo brakes and much larger brake discs
rest is mostly the same just down to a few tweaks.

another thing that has changed is the gear ratio's the dt125x has longer ratios in 4th,5th and 6th gear to make it alittle easier to ride on the road.

The ones i have personally deristricted and ridden "go off the clock" and the "x" is easily faster than the "R"

because it goes off the clock it come with an estimated speed in out technicians guide book from yamaha, estimated speed fully loaded (average rider weight is normally calculated at 12 stones) is 95mph.

so with leggy being....(cant tell a womans weight lol) atleast 2 stone lighter than the 12 stone Laughing 100mph should be do-able

Laughing Im SOLD! Laughing

Im now deffinatly buying a 05 DT125X, Wink

Thanks, great info! Thumbs Up
