what do you do to keep warm when riding? Someone should make something you wear under your leather that plugs into the bike somewhere and goes hot like a heat pad Shocked Shocked Cool It's cold enough when you don't have 70 mph wind hitting you in the face.

heated grips
heated seats?

I can't think of anything else tbh

or does your leather keep you warm enough on it's own?

Electric waistcoats are apparently the recommended way forward. Keeping the body core warm will make sure the extremities keep getting warm blood, rather than the extremities shutting down to keep the core temperature up.

Layers and when its really cold a newspaper down the front of the jacket. Its getting warm now, so you shouldn't have any problems!

lol, still wales here though, it's the wind that causes most of the cold (even in summer when it's sunny).

heated everything their, doesn't look like it runs off 12 (or 8) volts though - https://www.brmc.co.uk/klanwcoat.jpg

actually they say the best way to get warm when out in the cold is to fold your arms and tuck your hands up in your arm pits, you could quite easily sow in some heated grips into your jacket in that area - it's meant to heat the rest of your body by doing that, and your feet is another area iirc.

You can get fully heated suits that plug into the bike.

Best bet is to layer-up, use thin, tight fitting layers. Thermal suit (long johns and long sleved top from a ski-shop). String vest, long sleeved T-shirt, trousers. Then leathers and if it is really cold, gore-tex layer over the top.

I have been known to wear two pairs of long-johns and combat trousers under my leather jeans then gore-tex trousers over the top.

When the snow doesn't melt off your jacket, you are wearing enough leathers.

Depends on how long you are rideing, never been out in the cold long enough to warrent heated clothing, 1 hour stops to re warm usually does the trick.. (i mean a stop every hour, not for an hour!)

Army surplus gear is good, i have neoprene socks that go over my normal bike socks, 100% warm all the time in winter (sidi vertibre boots)

Camping shops sell heat packs, the are frickin great, get 4 of them and activate them, stick on in each arm pit, and two down your pants... or pockets works ok too.. when you need to use them again you can recharge them by microwaveing them... verry handy.

Balaclava is the 100% best item of bike kit i own! seriously! warm neck, warm head.. makes allot of difference.. am yet to try the extreme coldweather mask i got though Shocked (and to look that much of a mental its gonna have to be pretty bad before i get that out)

Hands are the worst for me, tryed everything but heated gloves which i'll be getitng before winter is back, heated grips were pants imo, better than nothing but not allot Sad
Wearing thermal liners, then surgical gloves then your propper gloves is the best i have tryed up to now (restricts hand movement a bit though)
Hand guards make a big difference too though + cheap (or free if you have some plastic milk bottles laying about...

Be warned, lectric vests and the like use allot of power, bear that in mind when buying! klan do make 12v vests, aerostitch sell them (us based) and touratech sell them too i think... klan are supposed to be the best out too...

very strange website that, the way they sell it sounds like a blooming revolutionary invention or something but it's just a scarf/banadana with something they've designed printed on it Neutral
