PAY the £35 or whatever for HPI, could save you thousands I was about to buy an SV650 but thought I'd do a quick HPI whilst I was at the blokes house, turned out to be a Cat B write off (frame should be crushed, not road legal etc..) bike *looked* fine.. but HPI says otherwise.. best £35 odd I ever spent to be honest.. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Category A: Can't ever go back on the road, the vehicle is crushed. Generally when the vehicle was involved in a fatal accident, it's completly burnout or other such things.
Category B: Can't go back on the road, but can be broken for parts. The frame and engine are the only parts which can't be used on roads, could be used as a track bike though.
Category C & D: Beyond economic repair I believe is the term the insurance people use, basically it would cost them more to fix up than it would to replace, but it can be put back on the road again if you want. Can be as simple as needing complete new bodywork as OEM bodywork is expensive and that's where they get their numbers from. Value of bike is lower than it would be if it didn't have a write off to it's name even if it's been repaired fully, and believe insurance is also slightly more expensive.
