I will be very sad on tuesday as my i can ride my NSR no more
sniffle sniffle.

But that would be because i have just bought a Suzuki SV650s
such a nice bike i have put on a double bubble wind shield a seat cowling and a lower fairing with a special twin venom pipe setup on its way.

Pics will come in the next week or so...

Unitll then you will find me trying wheelies somewhere.

Zimma doesn't make it look to hard and he has a twin, but it is a different bike so you may be right on the sv

Most bikes if not all will wheelie with the clutch, but off the power I think Zim said his front wheel comes up in 3rd or 4th Shocked

Hmm, I think you are getting twins and V-Twins mixed up.
Twins generally are not great at wheelies (although they can be persuaded). However V-Twins generate loads of torque, which is exactly what you need for some one wheeled shinanigans Twisted Evil

on the subject of wheelies- can any of you lads manage decent wheelies on your 125 strokers?
Also has anyone got any tips for stoppies? I wanta give it a go but I don't wanta damage my bike again. How fast do you need to be going?- baring in mind the planet has very good brembo brakes.

Cannot think of a reason a V twin should have any more or less torque than a parallel twin. Torque is basically down to the stroke of the engine, and that is the same from a given engine capacity / bore size

Torque what is this word? i own a Stroker...
a 125 stroker...

Wink

Oh as for the wheeling thing, the only way i've got mine to wheelie is with my brother on the back of the bike and throwing the clutch out...
and its not to safe. so i dont do it.

I think it's just that peole rarely seem to bother to tune parrelel twin's so much, as they're mostly older designs (though I think someone makes a turbo for the new Bonneville)... though there was that 500cc 2st twin kart at Winners karting... 150mph would suggest it was quite tuned Very Happy

Hi

If it was only doing 150 then it was not a particularly quick 250 twin at a guess. One at a kart track I went to was on display with a note saying it had been clocked at 166 (and that was about 5 years ago).

As to torque, the problem is that a parallel twin needs a balance shaft to stop it vibrating to pieces (like an old Triumph would do), which makes them more expensive to make in some ways than a V twin. About the only modern parallel twin (cos the Bonnie isnt really a real modern engine) is the TDM850 engine, and even that is over a decade old. Maybe MuZ will change that Laughing

All the best

Keith
