"Drive a bright yellow sports car or a snazzy, high-performance motorbike and you'll undoubtedly get stares, but you shouldn't be pestered by the authorities, should you? Well, you (and a number of other categories of motorist) might be if the police use their latest powers to the utmost. In fact, based on the accusation of a single individual, you could find yourself as a defendant in court proving your innocence before a charge of anti-social driving."

Thats sounds like a completely retarded bill! Surely the whole, you can blame anyone idea will just waste police time, despite their quota bashing tendancies. We are becoming more of a police state and it sickens me. Evil or Very Mad Thumbs Down

Disregard my comments about the Conservatives being facism warmed up, it seems the New Labour party has grabbed that title.. Confused

The idea of being arrested purely on accusation by anyone else, for anything they deem you to have done/ be doing wrong is just obscene. Then you have to prove that you've not done it?! In the case of one persons word against another, then they really need to stick to innocent until proven guilty. No proof or independent witnesses, then no arrest.

I'm not giving my fingerprints if I've done nothing wrong. Evil or Very Mad

But as was so succinctly pointed out;
"If you haven't done anything wrong then you've got nothing to worry about"...

Agree there McShaggis

It is stupid to give the person claiming the wrong more power than the person who then has to prove his/her innocence.

Then as the article is pointing out: what is a wrong? People perceive different things to be wrongs. It's an opinion, and without hard factual evidence (from both sides) how can we possible say that it's fair?

We're becoming more of a nanny state. We can handle ourselves, ffs.

And or course there is the losing civil liberties, well this is a step in that direction. If they are doing this on petty things like road incidents you can only imagine what will come next. Some of the things drawn up look pretty scary...

Seems like we're heading in the same direction as the corrupt U.S.

And to top it off we have another 4 years of this bullshit. Conservatives would have been worse, but Blair is such a dick he'll make things go downhill. There are no terrorists, don't invent them. Don't create them by going to war with innocent countries. Blair is the biggest pratt ever. We aren't scared.

And yes I will be leaving this country once the conditions are right, and no they are not getting my fingerprints without evidence or a good enough reason.

Biker: "Morning Officer, can I help?"
Police: "We've had reports of you riding dangerously"
Biker: "Really? By whom?"
Police: "You'll find out. Court next Wednesday okay?"
Biker: "I'm sorry?" <nervous laugh>
Police: "You heard. Take your gloves off please, we need your prints"
Biker: "You're joking right?"
Police: "Nothing funny about riding dangerously sir. Now take those gloves off or we'll have to resort to force. That's it - and look into the camera"
Biker: "For Christ's sake, I've done nothing wrong"
Police: "Well for your sake I hope so, you could lose your license for this. Here's your copy of the paperwork, see you next week. Remember - you're on file now, any more trouble and we'll have your bike away"
Biker: "You can't do that!"
Police: "Oh yes we can. Have a nice day"

Contains the paragraph:

' The Association of Chief Police Officers has just established a Road
Policing Intelligence Forum, which notes that "bad driving, even where not leading to a collision, is threatening and intimidating to other drivers". It is sufficient that this threat is merely perceived by the self-proclaimed victim. The targeted individual will have to prove his or her innocence. '

And how often has someone on here complained about crap drivers almost taking them out? at least now you have an avenue to pursue them.

Me too.
"the uk is a major target for terrorists" ?
I don't give a s*it anymore. It's the least a government that criminalises the entire population deserves.

[edit] Anyone know where you buy those laser target designator thingies?[/edit]
