Just recently I have...

It's been amazing weather all week up here but I'm guessing it's a combination of a few things, trying to sell my bike, changing jobs, pre-occupied doing other things but even when I've had time I've not even thought about going out for a blast...

I'm going for a run this sunday but all this week I've not even thought about going out.

Anyone else go through a phase like this?

One of the advantages/disadvantages of commuting on my bike is I'm so used to riding it every day that I miss it at weekends.

Though sometimes it's nice to rest my aching bones Laughing

Yeah I get that occasionally, a lot of the time it's just because I'm too busy to go for a thrash.
I also get days where I am just gagging to get on the bike and want to ride all day Smile

Well, I wouldnt say youre off riding your bike permanently Smile, but its probably just because of whats going on in your life at the moment. As soon as you find some time to go out, do it, and go for a nice thrash on some back roads. Thats guaranteed to get you back in the mood!

I also know that feeling of wanting to go for a ride really badly. Ive been overseas at this design school for almost four months without riding and cant wait to get home in 2 weeks. Talk about severe riding withdrawl Sad.

Only gone off riding once. It was coming back from Aberystwyth in summer kit and rode into a thunderstorm. Got soaked and frozen 120 miles from home. I would rather have been somewhere else at that moment. Just seems funny now though.

Got a ride out with some of the folk from off here on sunday, up round Tyndrum, Glen Coe, Oban Loch Lomond etc...

Looking forward to it but dunno if it will kick my arse back into gear. Last ride I went on I just wasn't with it TBH, had an OK time but didn't come off yearning for more Confused

After a plethora of incidents with the police a while ago, I did go off riding my bike for a short period through fear of getting stopped again.

When I did go out, I rode like I was in my test again.

Thankfully it didn't last long, and I'm now back to my usual self (as beasty will confirm Wink) . Still not got my knee down though Mr. Green

I regularly 'Go Off' the idea of riding my bike, for the pure reason it pisses me off so much Laughing

Weirdly i have gone off my own because its too easy to ride... if that makes sense? it handles very well on corners, rediclously easy to ride a slow speed and fast... but its just not as much fun when the frame isn't bending in half underneeth you Shocked (ever ridden an 80s bike on 70s suspension to the raged limmit?)

Also had some niggles, both fixed at not much cost.. but they have put me off useing it for more than 100 miles at a time Sad i dont "trust" it anymore if you know what i mean...

So changeing soon hopefully for something more laid back (not a cruiser)

But when you get on i'm sure you'll remember how great it is very quickly, i never remember siting on my bike thinking i'm not haveing a good time... its just geting off your ass and puting all your gear on and the faffing that comes with bikeing that can be a pain...

Enjoy summer while you can, we all know damn well it wont last as long as we want.

You're just feeling a little apathetic I should imagine. It will pass. We all have weeks/days (some of us longer) when we just don't want to do anything.

Once you get on your bike again you won't want to get off.

Know what you mean Frazla. Last summer when I got off the ferry at Dover, on the way home was soon stuck in motorway roadworks, cars overturned on the m25 etc Rolling Eyes It's depressing.

yes, i have been very non enthused by riding my bike for a long time now

havent had one ride for fun on the tiger yet tbh, it has been fun occasionally when im on my way somewhere...

the weather is shite for this time of year Thumbs Down , ive been wearing my windproofs for about 8 months now, and its getting a little tedious.... a 'why do i bother' kind of attitude it developing

but right now, im really fucked off Evil or Very Mad , and when nothing else is working, im gonna piss off on the bike for the day, and see if it can solve anything

Started riding mine to work when weather is good. Car when it's not. And it makes me realise how much better it is ride than to drive in nice weather. And those flippin traffic jams that I hate sitting in are just not a problem when I'm on the bike

An excellent point. Modern bikes are simply boring to ride because they are essentially to good. The speed of them in phenominal but as a few have pointed out with Police and cameras they can't be used to their limit. Not just that, but riding ability as well I guess.

I enjoy mine all the time. Probably because at some point or other it'll put the shits up me and wake me up to life big time. Very Happy

I'm put off my own bike quite a bit lately, just a couple of niggles with the exhaust system but its got to the point where I'm sick of trying to sort it. (It will get done, next week sometime.)

I'm also bored of it power wise, due to using my fathers fireblade for so long. Fireblade is fun, bandit is just boring. Razz Meh, it'll do me a few more months, if I ever get this scorpion can fitted properly, if not, back to stock for a while it'll be.

There are times when I just don't feel like riding, and for a week, maybe two or three, I won't touch the bike. Then I'll jump back on it randomly one day and have a blast Cool Thumbs Up .

Sometimes if its too f***** hot and i'm feeling a bit sh**y I prefer to drive in the car with the air con.

Also going to Tescos and realising, that there is no way what you bought will fit in your ruck sack. Then having to phone the wife to drive down...
