first off, not happy
long post, short version starts at the
went out for a ride today, on the tiger, (as posted in another thread, tempting fate maybe) to try and cheer myself up a bit, was like the first ride ive taken on it, just for a jolly
headed up towards aylesbury, leighton buzzard kind of way, just getting myself lost, picking random country lanes that looked interesting, was vaguely enjoying myself..
after a while along one particular road, i got to the end, did a U-turn and went back to do it again, hill up ahead, so i got to the bottom of it, and ripped the throttle open, and was rewarded with an expensive sounding crunch, and then several more engine dead, no engine braking, no thrust.. knew immediately what had happened, and coasted over the side of the road, got off the bike...
now why is it, whilst climbing off your bike your mind tries to convince you so hard that. its no biggy, and when you look down you will, in fact, still have a chain .. and all will be well..... but oh no..
https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/fuck4.jpg
....
problem now being, in the middle of the sticks, hadnt paid attention to a road sign for at least half an hour, and no one about, looked more civilised up the hill (would be wouldnt it ), so i headed back that way
ghost village at the top, i assume everyone ran away when they knew id be looking for help, knocked on 6 doors, and got nowt, so carried on pushing, over the top of the hill, and down the other side, went for about half an hour, seemed like forever, must have been a good few miles by that point (heavy fucking bike sweating buckets and feeling very sorry for myself) finally saw what i thought was a golf course, on the other side of a field full of sheep, so legged it onto that, got some place names off a rather helpful lady golfer she said my best bet was to go to the crossroad another mile or so down the road..
so push push push, to the crossroads, ring the RAC, and flake out on the floor, totally nackered felt totally ill and dehydrated
great how everyone loves to slow down to gorp at youre dilemma, but wont stop or wind down a window to ask "you ok mate"
fuck you all, very much
5 bikes came past, 2 stopped, not particularly impressed with todays team spirit, but thanks to the ones that did stop, a guy on a brand new speed triple checked i was ok before moving on, and a guy on a big shiny kwak cruiser, stopped for a chat, and offered me a drink... much needed and appreciated greatly
copper pulled up, and first thing he asked was had i had a smash cheers mate, but was fairly agreeable after that, so that was ok, he just confirmed my location, so i was able to give RAC better direction
almost 2 hours of sitting about, and the flat back turns up, and he loads up the tiger, and takes me home, very impressed with the service to be honest , thought it would be longer than 2 hours, and he took me all the way home with no hassles..
and so concludes todays little adventure, the bike is about 2 weeks out of its poxy 3 months warranty, which probly wasnt worth a damn in the first place
and im quite worried about the twisted look of the bike from the back, and the expensive looking engine cases with lots of debris and crap around the cracked area
really, really didnt need this. glad i picked up that H100 a few weeks back, cos that'll be my trusty steed for a while to come i feel
in conclusion

Shit! that looks very bad, i see what you mean about the twist in the frame, pics 3 and 4 look pretty bad to! are those the engine mounts that have been cut though!
any word on what you have to do to put it right, what ever it is it looks expensive?
any ideas what caused the chain to snap?
Have a good few beers it sounds like you need them

one addition..
if anyone has any advice, as to what i can do, go moaning to the dealer that sold it to me, that i couldve been killed or other such melodramatic shite?
or just bend over the desk at triumph, and let them do their worst
the chain had an annoying tight spot in it, but at its tightest spot it still was the correct tension, so there should have been no undue stress, apart from a slightly saggy chain, wish i knew was actually booked in next week to be changed ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

Not good at all. I'm sure its safe to say that a lot of us have felt your pain through similar problem-orientated experiences. I think it will be worth having a chat to the dealership where it was purchased, they might be able to help out.
Great bike mind, hope its all back in action soon & at minimal cost. ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

Nice roads round there. The golf course gave it away. Steep fucking hills as well.
It used to be my frequent route to and from my g/f's house.
Anyway, bet it was a pleasant jaunt in the countryside.... ____________________ "because one stroke isnt enough and four strokes waste two" |

Eeek! That damage looks pretty bad - hope it's not too expensive to repair!!
Maybe you could chuck it off a cliff, claim someone nicked it and get insurance money?? (PS Not necessarily the best idea... ) |

For what it's worth (and totally useless now) when I had a fairly bad smash, and I was trapped under my bike in a field, I called up my phone company (had no credit on my phone) and they were able to tell me my location and then gave me some free credit to call someone to help me. I've always been thankful to Orange/O2 (I forget which) for that. ____________________ TheShaggyDA: I've got 3 or 4 pairs that predate my wife, so at least 11.5 years old. |

Shitter (as usual) Goosey mate
I thought the law had changed whereby every secondhand vehicle sold from a dealers has a 6 month warranty as 'fit for purpose'?
Still, worth a call to CAB or something?
