Hi, i wasnt sure wether to put this in workshop or here so i opted for here, erm the question i want to ask is do you think the factory exhaust is restricting my yamaha TW 125? the bore of the exhaust from the engine is about 1.5 - 2.0 inch and this is maintained through the first section of the exhaust however the tail end of the pipe (which is the second of 2 parts that makes up the exhaust) starts at the same 1.5 - 2.0 inch and then comes out at a bore no bigger than my little finger so i think that this is just acting as one big funnel to keep back pressure up and thus restricting the speed of the bike? do you think this is the case and if so can i buy an aftermarket exhaust from anywere?

thanks Smile

Dan

I'm sure you can, i'm sure it will sound faster, not sure if it will actually make any difference appart from kill your mid range power making top end feel better.

Spend the money on some lessons, and you'll soon be taking your tes, getting something faster and wondering why you ever thought of trying to make a 125 go faster Thumbs Up

2 strokes need a fair bit of back pressure to run properly.

I fitted an after market exhaust to my MZ 125 and it actually lost a small amount of power. Sounded awesome though.
