I've just been having too much fun on the SV! Mr. Green I finally got to ride it away Saturday and I've been grinning since Very Happy

The first thing I noticed was how relaxed I felt on it. (This was only after a few miles though, the first were white-knuckled Laughing ) I was always telling myself to relax my arms and shoulders on the NSR, but on the SV seems to put you in an 'arm-chair' position. It feels good aswel to have a decent size tank to get your knees around. I seemed to crush certain bits when using my legs in steering on the Honda Laughing .

Enough about the riding postion, that V-twin roar is excellent. No more dropping a gear to overtake Thumbs Up it just keeps pulling. Sure, the 500's I used while doing DAS would do the same, but I rarely got the chance to explore it fully. I love rolling it on in top, and in no time at all your're 20mph+ over the limit Mr. Green

I'm not quite used to the front brake yet. I'm still used to pulling the lever in a decent amount before any serious braking force, but on the SV you just need a twitch of the lever to start slowing down. Is that right, do I just need time to get used to it?

This weekend is going to be spent setting up the rear suspension and removing the restrictions from 2nd and 3rd gears. The brake lines will need replacing in a couple of months or so. Not that they're damaged, but they're now 4 years old, so I might stick some Goodridges on.

I've got more plans for it, but they'll have to wait until I've got better cashflow Wink

Personally I wouldn't worry about the brake, you'll get used to that, as obviously the clutch/brake is different on every bike.

Although you can adjust it if you wish.

Goodrich hoses are a good idea, it'll make the brakes a fair bit sharper.

What year is it? a curvy one or the more R6 looking one? I like the newer ones with the box section frames.

It's a 2001, so it's curvy. I too like the more pointier >03 models, but this still looks dead sexy in 'Candy Saturn Black' Laughing
