Right then, as you know my sump plug got threaded and i needed a replacement.

Trawling the breaking ads on ebay, found this, thought fair enough, i'll sort that out. Got the cost down for £35, had reasonable comms with the guy over the phone.

He recieved the check on the 18th may;

Quote:
Byron Rimmer-

Hi mate

Cheque arrived ill bank it today , girlfriend just give birth to a baby girl
this morning so just give me a few days and ill get you sorted
Regards Byron

>hi, cheque should have reached you by now, i understand if you wish to wait
>for it to clear (logical) however i could really do with it asap so if you
>let me know when recieved, cashed, cleared and sent id be very grateful.

He then only cashed it in for may the 1st which led and leads me to believe he wasnt in a great rush for the money and therefore probably was pretty sound. Note on the original date of dealing with him his feedback was quite good... well ish.
Phoned him up friday, alledgedly he got his gf to post it off for him because he was down south, and she sent it off weds. Now i dont know about you... but its not here now, and its 2 days off a straight month hes had it.

Anyone in the area who can give him a quiet visit?

his address is;

77 RUSKIN AVE
LEYLAND
LANCS

I dont really know what i can do with the prick, im hoping i can get him to give me the information on postal receipt or what not. If not i'll be going up myself. New kid or not.

Oh and as a point i know its silly firing cheques off to random people, but i was desperate and he seemed a nice lad, plus for some reason i trust bikers more Rolling Eyes

This https://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&db=pc&cidr_client=none&lang=&pc=PR253ND&advanced=&client=public&addr2=&quicksearch=PR25+3ND&addr3=&addr1= is a map of the leyland area he lives in, i dont have his postcode anymore, this is with the postcode of another house in that street (good old google).

Bad timing, I was in Wigan not too long ago. Would have happily paid a visit for you. Sad

Sorry. Best of luck in resolving it! Smile

Ive just managed to get through to him, finally, annoyingly hes as nice as ever and i still cant quite get angry with him. I've asked for the tracking number/receipt etc so i can check with the post office, because i like to give the benefit of the doubt. But at this rate my mate will have done my old one before i get the new one.

Oh dear god how annoying.

Luckily i have a mission or two planned up north in the near future, need to visit a few people. Im sure i can pop by and say hello Evil or Very Mad

Should it not pop up in the next day or two that is. I suppose waiting 7 working days would be fairer. But i need the bike for exams and getting to college etc, so this is a nice spanner in the works.

Thats probably not a bad idea. Give him a day or two and then i'll get a mate on it to give him a bell. He's uber apathetic at answering emails though.

If you could that would be fantastic, just give him a bell and ask if hes still breaking it and if he has the sump plate (the bit with the sump plug on... hes a bit slow).

I still feel hes being genuine from the conversations, just absolutely bloody useless Laughing

Thanks in advance hun.

That feedback is pretty poor tbh. Registered in Oct 04 and now no longer registered. Sounds like a complete tosser to me. Hope you get the part though I know how long you have been waiting.

He sounds like the kind of tosser that spoils things for every one. I.E only cares about one thing: Himself

Around this time last year my brother bought a GSX600 from ebay, the guy never had paypal so it had to be payed by cheque. Three weeks later no reply, cheque had cleared so me, my brother and an other brother went round to the prick's house. He claimed he was moving house and his phone line was down so no phone or internet.

Next thing he says is the bike is at a frinds house twenty miles away. He says to us i will take my bike and you can follow me. We were in the car so out initial thought's were he is gonna shoot off on his SV650 and while he is away the removals company will clear the house so he is £2450 up and we have no bike and never see him again.

But in fact he was slow enough on the bike for us to keep up, and we got the bike which in my opinion was worth the wait. It was a cracker only 1 y.o no rust or scratches and it was very very cheap. I just wish i was old enough to ride it.

Crying or Very sad

Yeh i know... Crying or Very sad

I need to start checking feedback before i bid... usually if its above say 15 i just assume hes reasonably established.

Luckily i have a mate who says hes gonna try and get my old plate helicoiled, so hopefully cbr will be on the road soon. Gotta spend 200 on some new headers too Rolling Eyes

Bastard bikes... least ive learnt how to get nights out for 7.50 and get home bollocksed... and stay in a pub all night Wink For 7.50... So i might actually get some money accrued.

As a point, aftermarket tat im putting on before i next see you mate is;
R+G's £55
New micron Can £112
Black screen £15

So its my own fault im broke now.... but hopefully this pay check should go further this month.

I have both, sadly though hes apathetic at answering emails and he has but a mobile number. However im sure a russle about on the web will yeild the home number for that address.

Mobile is 07841193101, email is bazzacbr600@hotmail.com

Thank you for the offer, ill let you know if its still not here by friday say. Then we know hes being a complete cunt, wouldnt want to inconvenience you in dealing with a genuine muppet, rather then a malicious one.

I'll hold you to that mate. At present its looking forlorn in my garage, fairing, headers, sump plate and rad off. On the plus my new K+ N 'performance' (Rolling Eyes) oil filter is now on, strainers been reasonably cleaned, ive got the tools to fit the crash bungs, screen should be here in a day or two and is an easy job save taking off the upper fairing, but i need to do that to be able to twat about with the coolant etc... Only thing that still worries me is the header flange-to-block bolts have seized to the nuts, so are unscrewing from the engine... which means they may yet snap when going back in... Crying or Very sad Contemplating soaking in oil but that then risks not going in tightly/staying in....

All this for undoing a bolt clockwise Rolling Eyes

Sigh

I know the feeling bonny. I just been ripped off by a guy on here rookie_biker.

Payed him 70 quid through paypal for some dvds on the 27th of april. Ask where they were on the 3rd of may and he said
"They went out Saturday via Standard Parcels".
Who sends very nickable dvds out with no insurance? Ok I think, I'll wait and see.

Didn't turn up so I pm'ed him again on the 7th and he said

"Shit, they went out Thursday, I have the receipt. I assume they've been lost in the post then, I'll go to the post office on Monday and get a form to trace them".

Hmm he'd already told me he sent them on saturday? Convenient how he didn't insure them so can't claim for losses.
Asked for a reference number or some such for the lost parcel and got fobbed off with "royal mail are looking into it".

Like you bonny I have more trust for bikers but I'm changing my mind. I'd like to think it was all genuine and it really is lost but:

I payed him 72 quid and he doesn't put on a couple of pounds insurance?
Saying he sent it out saturday then saying thursday (waiting till money clears?).
No reference number?
Said name was george but paypal went through what looks like a company address to a different person? (shoulda clocked this one right away).

Wouldn't advise anyone to buy the other things he's selling on here untill this is resolved at least.

You could track him down using 192.com, I did this with a guy who sold me a fake watch via eBay. Its a long story, but I had it checked out by an authorised jeweller, and even they were satisfied at the time it.

Turned it it broke down over a year later, and the seller started getting arsey about it saying it was old now, and prove he sold me it etc, and that he would give me a goodwill payment back. I was livid and he shit himself when I did a bit of digging and started calling him at home and at work demanding he refund me all the money in full. I got my money in the end Thumbs Up

So a little gentle persuasion can go a long way

Lol, you can talk... youve still got them 'tools' off me Laughing

Hope they got some good use.

I'll let you know when the cbr's running again and we can have a little blat somewhere if the kwaka still works.

@ quik_d
yeh i did notice his ebays been banned, bit of a pisser really, but never mind. If needs be i can trundle up there, Jonny 'XX' is in the police and has offered to have a word on my behalf anyway should it still not have arrived by the end of the week. Hopefully though all is kosher and hes just a bit of a dipshit who cant do things with any degree of hustle.

Also noticed he was breaking his bike for any bit of cash he could get, then buys a 250 quid cd player for his car.... Confused

Slightly suspicious... Hopefully like i say, it should end well.

Everything crossed Crying or Very sad

Exactly the same happened to my lady a bot ago. Person with decent feedback suddenly becomes unregistered. Basically trying to rip people off. However eBay went after them and did eventually (took a while mind) get us the goods.

So this person said he had a bike breaking and invited people to contact him for parts enquiries?

And you fell for it. Oldest trick in the book.

If its not a proper ebay transaction, ebay don't care.

Your money is gone. The baby is likely a fabrication. The only way I'd expect to get anything is by paying a visit.

not Necessarily true. I ordered some bits for my ZXR400 from someone advertising a bike for breaking on e-bay. Spoke on the phone and the bits arrived this morning i only ordered them on Monday. This was some repair place in Devon though that were using ebay for advertising but its the same principal.
