I have a problem if I open the bike up for a gear or two my hips cramp up I have to let my legs dangle for at least 20 seconds before I put them back on the pegs weird hey? very sore psyatic nerves down each leg from the hips after a 2 hour ride with a half our stop in between caused me to miss two days of work! laying in bed thinking what happened to me ____________________ Those bloody footpegs......they ought to do away with em! |

I get the same thing.
Usually when i'm doing something energetic on my bike...
Standing up or dangling sorts it out though. ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

Try warming up before a long ride.
My rides up home (3 hours) I do without breaks, just do a bit of stretching before I sit on the bike for a few hours find it helps. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

I get it up the left hand side of my body, but it's only ever when i wear leathers. It also happens more when it's windy when traveling at high speed.
Yesterday i had to stop as quickly as possible from 120 and pull over as i completely cramped up
Hopefully the more i ride the better conditioned my muscles will become so it will happen less. |

I have always found my hips cramp up ever since I was weaving through traffic cones on a cb250 up to now, but this last ride crippled me for 2 and a half days. I did Tae Kwon Do for 9 and a half years and stopped about 3 years ago when I started working shift and ever since my hips have been realy sore and aching, I find sitting on the floor with my legs crossed stretches the area but no matter how much I do I wind up with cramps before I even get to the first corner, someone suggested I should ride pushbikes to free up the hips and do yoga so will try that and see how I go, who knows maybe I am just too old for sports bikes now ____________________ Those bloody footpegs......they ought to do away with em! |

what are bar risers? I thought of putting a cushion on the tank and resting my stomach on that but I didn't want to end up in a photo on a bike forum maybe a tank bag would help! ____________________ Those bloody footpegs......they ought to do away with em! |

The only thing like this I get, is my right knee getting really stiff, probably cos I don't use it too much.
I always stick a nana in my tankbag along with my coffee and sandwiches. ____________________ https://www.bebo.com/Z1000-Wildkat |

I got cramp in on my right thigh the other day. It hurt so much. I had to pull over and wait for like 10 minutes for it to go. Not a very nice experience. |

I must start eating more bananas from the sounds of it then. I sometimes get hip/ thigh cramp on journies longer than an hour to an hour and a half.
Well done for being the guineau pig. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Count me in for the ol' left hand cramp. ONly been ridin 3 days now and have just come back from my longest ride yet (only about 45 minutes around the back streets) but wholy shit my left hand is sore. Guess I'll get used to it. Reckon I might pull out the hand strenghtener squeezy thingy that I know is in a cupboard around here somewhere. I don't wanna spend any less time out on the bike then possible. YEP this is something I could get used to |
