hi mate...
couple of things that may be putting bidders off...
You put in that theres no TAX on the bike.. for the sake of £15 it may be worthwhile putting 12 months on... That way the bike is 'Rideawayable "
You've also said that the MOT "that runs out this year." but when this year? Buyers will want to know this sort of thing to see what the bikes actually worth.. It may be next week, and it stands no chance of passing another one.. or it may be the end of the year, and its got 7 months MOT on it... If you dont intend to re-MOT it for the sale, at least tell the buyer this important bit of info...
The pictures leave a lot to be desired.. Proof of mileage with a photo of the Speedo.. at least 4 decent quality picture, 1 back, 1 front and each side... If there is any damage or marks on the bodywork or paintwork then highlight them with a photo...
And finally, you've got a starting bid of £600.. thats fair enough, you want the bike to sell for more than that, but there are ways of making sure you get at least that..
I find that any auction I start with over £1.00 gets very little interest.. but the ones with £0.01 starting bid always make at least what I want back from them.. |

Is saying about how you can't afford to run it a good selling reason?
Change it to a much much lower starting price (£0.99), don't get people to bid on it for you until you have genuine bidders.
I'd be more specific with details, you say things like "£150 or so" and "a few hundred miles", details are good but only when they're not vague.
You mention "Performance Upgrades: Tuned Engine" but then don't say anything about it. The same with Customised Features.
Rather than saying cheque or Paypal, cash on collection has no fees and less possiblity to go wrong.
Be precise with any details you give, MOT running out this year gives a seven month window that it could run out in. Some better photos would help it sell as well I reckon.
Is there really nothing at all else wrong with the bike other than the temperature gauge being faulty as its a 15 year old bike. Give details of any damage or problems, choose not to mention it and people will probably notice when they come to pick it up. |

Remember the bike is 1990 that is 15 years old, a lower starting price on a bike of this age would probably result in a higher end price. ____________________ Proud owner of a Motorhispania RX50

Hmm seriously considering puting mine on e-bay..
Anyone sold their bike on fleabay and had a good/bad experiance? was going to include "any bids from less than 10feedback will be deleted" and "bike can be viewed and test ridden before and not after buying"
Or would auto trader be a better bet?
Good luck getting it sold killa ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Well i thought rather than start another thread saying pretty much the same...
allthough a mate had problems selling his bike, some guy bid, didn't turn up then decided he didn't want it (costing my mate the fees and whatnot), he had 3/4 feedback.. of course anyone could do it but +10 is allot safer than none... ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

i think it kind of depends on your bike, if its old weird or you live in a rural area then probably ebay is best but autotrader is £25 and you will only get people serious about buying. i like ebay because you dont need to haggel prices down to a realistic level and some people bid stupid amounts for total dogs. |
