Cause they have such a minority demographic to aim at. Possibly 2 million bikers on the road. Not all looking for a new bike at the same time. In fact there are a couple of bike adverts about, usually around MotoGP and the like. I saw one for the Bandit 650 the other week.
You can't just chuck in adverts anywhere like Jamster do, you got to research your market demographic, unlike a car where the majority of families have at least 1 car per household. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. I seen Suzuki advertised a few times on Eurosport if that makes any difference.
Well actually it sponsered a program I think, so I don't think thats classed as advertising.
I have always wondered the same thing though. No idea why they aren't advertised. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S

Some of it must be due to the ASA.
Advertisers cant give the impression of speed or make claims about acceleration, top speed and handling. The (flawed) argument being, such advertisements turn people into speeding lunatics.
I can hardly see Suzuki basing an advertising campain for the GSXR 1000 on its fuel consumption and comfort
But yes, most of it is probably due to the inability to target the biker demographic effectivly through TV. |

I think I've seen adverts for all the major manufacturers on tv in this country, it's just they only tend to put them on around moto gp or superbikes when they are likely to have an audience that is interested in buying bikes. Think I've seen a few in the early hours of the morning aswell, when advertising space costs a lot less. ____________________ Gallery |
