And here she is:
https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/bluett.jpg
my new bike!
After deciding that I couldn't really afford or justify a 950cc bike, (and realising that it might be a teeny tiny tadette to tall for me!) I decided to sell up and buy a smaller bike that was more comfortable and lower to the ground .
Obviously it had to be a Triumph, but I couldn't afford a Daytona 600/650, and that left only one option. A TT600.
I scoured ebay and found one that I liked and went to see it last week. Paid the remainder of the cash and collected her today.
https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/bluett3.jpg
Now, it is not without some trepidation that this decision was made, as obviously the TT600 has something of a reputation for having a weak engine. Particularly as I will be going from a 955cc triple to a supposedly flawed 600cc four.
I needn't have worried. The TT600 is a Hoot with a capital H!
You can gas it out of bends without worrying about rear end slides and I can chuck the bike around with much more vigour than I ever could the Daytona. The handling of the bike is nothing short of amazing and I am not sad that it lacks the somewhat top heavy dropping-off-a-cliff feeling of the Daytona. I'm not saying that the Daytona is a bad bike, far from it. What I am saying is you need to be a tall guy with some bodyweight to speak of to get the best from it. I believe that the TT600 is much better suited to my riding.
https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/bluett2.jpg
Another advantage is that I can paddle the bike backwards and turn it around by pushing with absolutely no wobbles or fear at all. This may be to do with the weight that the bike carries (IE none compared to the Daytona) but I believe it is mostly to do with the low seat height and the less comitted riding position.
Some bike mags claim that the TT600 is lacking midrange. Maybe that is true on the 2000 and 2001 models, but my mint 2002 model feels fantastic in the engine department. Obviously not as grunty as the Daytona, but I could find no holes in the smooth creamy power delivery. The engine still feels quite tight and so I think a few more miles under its belt might well loosen it up a bit. It has done 1600 miles!
The riding position is comfy, and the digital clocks are something that I will have to get used to.
If I were to pick a downside, I would say that the bars are a smidgin too high for a sportsbike, but that might be to do with the fact I am used to the Daytona.
All in all, a good purchase IMO!
Oh and the Daytona is still for sale £3600 ono if anyone wants it! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

Well,
I emailed the guy under my pseudonym Mangaboo and I sent him a cheque for 10,000 pounds so that it could cover the costs incurred by my shipping companeee... Oh and I told him I was from Moldova.
To cut a long story short £2800. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

Whoa dude, that's a good buy! It also looks divine. You have good taste. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Lovely looking bike (but I would say that wouldn't I ).
The colour coded intake vents really look good, I was considering getting some for mine and I think your pics have made up my mind.
I think the best thing I've done cosmetically to mine was to change the bulky indicators for some aftermarket ones, a bit fiddly to fit but (I think) they improve the general shape of the bike. A Blue Flame exhaust would look superb on yours' too!
A small downside of owning a TT is browsing through the aftermarket bike part magazines/websites and seeing all the more popular bikes mentioned and having very little choice when it comes to add ons. It's just a question of trial and error sometimes although Jack Lilley and Triumph'ant are great online resources.
