I was driving back home (in the car) from Newbury Showground on the A34 just after lunch in the pouring rain yesterday and overtook a biker and pillion going southbound. Bike was plodding along at a sensible speed given the weather. However the bikers themselves were wearing tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Whilst I realise that we've all got our own views on wearing or not wearing protective gear, I did feel really sorry for the pair of them in the wet, getting soaked to the skin.

Wouldn't that be a lack of foresight though Tony?

I've ridden in atrocious conditions before, but I was decked out in winter riding gear at the time!

Yep, definately. They are unlikely to be that unprepared again.
Still felt sorry for them

I got caught in that monsoon thing!!
Came onto the M4 it started to spit, I stopped at a garage to get a drink and heard the rain, it sounded heavy.
Got outside it was bloody heavy, could hardly hear anything else but the rain.
I was coming back from Cricklade and saw a ZZR in the middle lane, he had some luggage on the back looked like he was in for a long journey, I over took him, looked back and gave a thumb up and a nod.
As I got into the left lane to exit he came past me, I looked and he waved his fist as if to say “Come on!!”

I felt much better then, why should the rain get you down. Lol
