Driving back from the school run and a zxr400 overtakes me, no big deal you might say.
The guy was wearing a t-shirt, trackie bottoms and trainers, but i thought if he's just moving the bike gently in town then fair enough.
Then the stupid twat decideds to pop a wheelie OVER A ZEBRA CROSSING!
Ive no problems with wheelies but surely not in town down the road from a school over a crossing!
It would be wrong to give out his reg number so it definatly wasnt L224 XHW
So dick head if you are on here and read this message, feel free to defend yourself and if the exscuse is good enough then ill delete my post! |

"i was driving my volvo, with full rollcage and five point harness at 5 mph when some absolute idiot came past me RIDING A MOTORBIKE! i couldn't believe it! how unsafe is that?"
i wear what i like, sometimes leather, sometimes armoured textiles, sometimes normal clothes
why would you wish another rider fell off and injured himself?
wheelies are a bit daft and dangerous in town, but they are fun, and i bet the schoolkids loved it
don't judge unless you want to be judged ____________________ "There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright-red, hunch-back, warp-speed 900cc cafe racer is one of them - but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. That is why they are dangerous."

He's a knob thats why. Simple.
Saw a complate and utter knob on a GSXR 600 in town a few daya go, full tracksuit, no gloves, MX helmet, around 60mph down the town centre, through the red light's at the crossing and kept going for it.

Me too, I'm prepared to be judged on my road safety, and its Twats like that, that attract unwanted attention, and its Twats like that, that will end up getting bikes banned or limited to 15BHP or something nice and sensible.
.........and like it or not it will affect all of us, YOU included hugo- a-gogo!
When the Nanny state brings in a ban on motorcycles or a 15BHP limit, it'll be no good you complaining then! We the Motorcyclists need to self-regulate if we are to avoid such moves, and that involves educating twats not to wheelie across Zebra crossings, surrounded by school kids ____________________ Richard

you'll all be wearing sam brown belts, never getting your knee down, not fitting load cans, never speeding, never wheelying, then? ____________________ "There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright-red, hunch-back, warp-speed 900cc cafe racer is one of them - but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. Must agree with hugo there, i have only ridden in a 2 piece once, when i was looking at buying Acer's old one. And i didnt like it to be frank. The fit was slightly out, but still i just didnt feel at ease like that.
My usual Attire when im going for a serious ride is gloves, boots, leather rev'it jacket and helmet. Thats it.
When i was pootling the hartford 125 i was riding in jeans, toecaps, gloves and a normal puffer type jacket. When i came off it at about 30 ish i holed my jeans. That was it. Yes i got a badly jarred knee that didnt want to work for a month, but i would have had that in leathers.
As for a wheelie on a zxr400, i think he deserves applause considering what people have said about the gits. It also tells me he wasnt exactly 12'ing it at 80 odd. Perhaps a foot high float for about 10 feet sounds more likely. Hardly the destroyer of worlds now is it. Also if you are used to wheeleying, you might be of my feelings. I personally feel more at ease on the back wheel at say 40, then with two wheels at 150. Plenty of thinking time, and as long as the road is reasonably wide and clear, it doesnt have to be an empty airstrip but perhaps just a quiet little non residential 30-40. Since you havent told me the circumstances i cant tell what it was, but im sure we've all done naughty things at inappropriate times, just for the sheer hell of it. Only thing i wouldnt do is clutch one up on a damp painted surface... Not likely to end well.

Maybe something should click. It doesn't mean it does. So long as he only hurts his own body and wallet if he comes off, I couldn't care less.
I've come off three times where the kit I was wearing made any difference, in one case it saved my life. The other hundreds of times I've ridden and not come off, I could have been naked and it would have made no difference except being attacked by the insects. He didn't come off, he could have been naked and it wouldn't have made any difference. IMO, judge people on what they do, not what they might do, especially in what they choose to ride or wear.
Doing stunts on bikes where there are vulnerable road users about is a very bad idea. The kit he was wearing isn't really relevant. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

I am usually among the first to argue for the right to choose and that a lot of the traffic laws are stupid, but wheelying through a pedestrian crossing is inconsiderate, antisocial and downright dangerous. If a copper saw him doing that he would be looking at a court appearance and a ban for dangerous driving, in my oppinion it would be well deserved.
No matter who you are, you are not in full control of the vehicle when you are up on the back wheel, your concentration is reduced, your visability is compromised and your stopping distance is longer. By all means do a wheelie on an open piece of road where visibility is good and you have already seen the way is clear, no way is it acceptable to do it on a pedestrian crossing.
I used to ride through town like a tw@ too, I have since thought about my riding and got my head in order. I hope that guy does too before he takes someone else down with him.
Behaviour like that does the public perception of biking absolutley no good whatsoever. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
