Take one Cagiva Supercity 125....

Add a simultaneous big end / small end failure…..

Start the strip down...

Remove the flywheel/magneto. The worst part of the job, it pops off like a Exclamation . The Spanner is used as a brace to lock the flywheel so less hands are needed......

Put the remains to one side....

The heavy lump of the engine.....

The stator plate....

The primary drive, clutch basket, intermediate gear, balancer shaft and oilpump/tacho drive....
https://www.bangor.ac.uk/~bsuc15/Cagiva/Cagiva9.JPG

The intermediate gears (right) and the balancer shaft (left) correctly aligned, as shown by the marks where the two gears meet….

The gear selector mechanism, the water pump gear, primary gearbox shaft (clutch basket removed) and the end of the secondary gearbox shaft (in a clockwise motion). Empty bearing seat in bottom left is for fitment of a kickstart.....

The inside of the engine/gearbox.....

Just got to send the crank and cylinder off now. Big up to Mito Mondo for shipping in parts SOO fast.

The pictures show why i love stroker engines soo much. They're so simple, yet powerful. I think deep-down i love it when it goes bang.....

If you're thinking about doing this to your own engine, it took me 7 hours to strip the bike and get as far as starting to split the crank cases, then another hour or so getting the crank out.

My old wmx 250 didnt take too long to strip down which was handy after the ten or so attempts at getting the gearbox right after buying bearings and seals for all of the bottom end (needed them) and when i took the selectors out etc forgot where they went Brick Wall the rest of the engine wasnt too complicated

hope everything goes well Thumbs Up

your lucky the crankcases split Vertically and not horizontally like on a KR1S, pain in the ass getting the gear box back together.

if you can,t get hold of any yamabond for the crankcases, blue hycomer or three bond is as good.
