Exchanging Full EU license for UK?!!

Long time lurker first time poster....

OK I have passed my full bike test (not 125cc) here in Ireland, but the law here requires all bikes to be restricted to 33hp for first 2 years. Bit of a pain really, as I got my eye on a SV650!

I'll be moving to UK over summer and am wondering, as I'm WELL over 21, if I change my license to a UK will the restriction be lifted?!

Come on all you legal eagles, can I beat the system?!!

From something written in a magazine a while back I think it is quite easy and the chances are you will get a UK full power licence.

Why change it???

I always thought getting off points was a great idea.

Seriously though, I got let off big time in Ireland for speeding, they couldn't be bothered with the hassle and they couldn't have endorsed my UK license.

I also know a german lad that got let off doing a Ton 10 on the M1.

Its the same the other way round, if you get flashed in the UK, worse case you get a summons, all you get is a fine.

Would it be possible to do your test over here instead so you'd have multiple licences? I know it's doubtful to be what you're after, but if you had to exchange licences every time you moved from one place to the other I could see it getting very annoying, especially so when the DVLA procrastinate for a month and then proceed to lose it.
