Yup, 2 months into riding and I got knocked off . 7pm this evening on the A2 heading up Blackheath Hill, I was moving past 2 lanes of stationary traffic and travelling on the right hand side of the cars in the 2nd lane. Doing about 10 maybe 15 mph. One of them decided he didn't want to wait in the queue and pulled out presumably to do a U but pulled out into me instead. me and bike hit floor and slid into the path of oncoming traffic coming down the hill. A guy running past ran out to make it slow down before it hit me. My first thought as I hit the floor was "fuck get up and out of the way".
The guys in the car got out and helped me to the side of the road. I've never had an accident before and I was pretty shaken up we exchanged details and he seemed genuine, i got his name, address, reg and 2 phone numbers. After about 90 mins by the roadside I managed to get home, bike is unridable, no right mirror, indicators, brake lever snapped, gear selector on left is bent vertical. I've noticed the mobile number is a digit short and the landline goes through to a police switch board. I've been down to the police station and filled out a little report thing but already alarm bells are ringing, have I been had, it certainly seems suspicous? The address definitely exists and I'm pretty sure I've got the car remembered correctly but I can't help but feel worried. It's all on a piece of paper that he wrote down.
My bike is due to be taken to White House Honda in Kent tomorrow but with no one as yet really dealing with it yet insurance wise is there much point it even going to them?
I'm most certainly glad I bought full riding gear, my sidi boots and Frank thomas trousers took one for the team tonight, thank the lord for knee pads. Hohum, I ache

Hey RS, you're a proper biker now!!
Too right get it claimed off their insurance! Didn't your runner mate offer himself up as a witness??
Sounds like it was a fair size off mate. On the bright side, any lesser offs from now on won't seem so bad!!
Trust me, once you've been over someone's bonnet, a lowside around a roundabout doesn't seem anywhere NEAR as bad!! ____________________ My Bikepics page
