Anyone use this with their bikes? i use it on my old Supra as owners swear by it and wouldn't use anything else. Apparently it doesn't have the chemicals in it that perish the gaskets and rubber hoses, plus it's better for aluminium as well ... can't exactly remember the technical pro's to it but it's supposed to be the best coolant money can buy, and i can tell you it ain't cheap £15 for a pre-mixed 5litre bottle! Shocked

Worth it though Thumbs Up just wondering if anyone has tried it?

As long as it says "suitable for use in Aluminium engines" you should be OK.

As far as I know, antifreeze is pretty much ethylene glycol (the actual antifreeze) and sodium nitrite (a corrosion inhibitor) with a dye in it.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the only difference was the colour of dye they put in it.

When was the last time you heard of an engine corroding due to antifreeze or hoses perishing from the inside out?

There are other kinds, big diesels used to use Methanol for coolant, Propylene Glycol is the clear stuff & is WAY better than the ethylene based crap.
If ya mix the red Toyota/GM stuff with the green it turn's into jello... DO NOT MIX THEM

I give Propylene Glycol to sick cows. I have a 50litre drum of the stuff sat next to me at work.

It's an active ingredient in anti-constipatory powder, though thankfully I've never had to use any. There is also a staggering amount of salt in it for some reason.

Not sure what the chemical difference is, but the red stuff "lasts" for a longer time - 5 years, and the blue stuff 2 years untill is should be changed.

Also red stuff for is certain engines - Audi and a few specific others. I know these are most probably Aluminum engines, so that could be one reason as suggested per Stinkwheel

You also find it in a LOT of food, they use it to lube food processing machines (meat grinders, butter packing machines etc)

My dad used to be a mechanic, so theres loads of various bottles/tubs of chemically stuff lying around.. One of which is a *big* bottle of Toyota coolant which he um, "acquired" somewhere...

It's the red stuff, and its called "4 life" or "For life" (can't remember how its written on the bottle).

I've been using it in my ped for a while without any problems Smile
