60mph was fine for me on my 125 Wink

Well.....all it did was 55mph Laughing Stick it out, learn as much as possible and do your test Very Happy Unless you got it on finance, then sell the bike and get a bike designed to go faster Very Happy

No wonder why your bike won't do over 60 though, should do 70 I would have thought. There's plenty nsr geeks on this forum though, I'm sure someone will tell you something useful Wink

No, because that's actually incorrect.

What condition is the spark plug in? That is the window to the engine. Running too rich, too lean, overheating, pre-ignition, too much oil, too little, whatever, the spark plug colour will tell you.

Could be your ignition pump mate... I'd check that out then take it back on the A roads. If it doesn't reach 80mph then take it back home, degrease the back of her throat and download the whole thing.

Is it an import NSR? If so then it will have restriction in the cdi. It therefore wont let you go above certain speed.

LMAO

Well ur bikes restricted right? so its gonna top ot at just after 60 i guess. that what the restriction does, stops you going too fast for ur experience Rolling Eyes Seems to me ur bike runs and rides so why does it have to go into a garage? waste of money getting someone to look at it when all they gonna say is it s restrited, get over it!My DT125 only just hits 60mph even tho its got sport exhaust system on it, cos i never bothered sorting the restriction out!

Thats a bit bang out mate, but made me giggle. Theres also a kid in our school that we call downie, funny as fuck.

As for the NSR, it should sure as hell do more than 60mph. Restricted it should be hitting at least 70. Not totally sure, but there may be a restriction in the pipe, if so, you need to take that out first. I'm not very knowledgeable on the NSR, but if you go to 125cc Sportsbikes, and go to the NSR section, I'm pretty damn sure they can help you out. Don't buy a new bike yet, just get the NSR de-restricted and see how much fun you have then! Thumbs Up

My guess would be a partially blocked main jet, i had a similar problem on my TZR.
either that or the head wind was too strong Smile
Let me know if you need a hand on how to fix it.

Im sure some kind soul will tell you more . as for the rest dont listen to them telling ya not to bother lol it just because they have big boy bike Laughing

Ive got an Italian import NSR. It was restricted when i got it and it would do 75 regularly 80 max.
To derestrict i had to take a washer out that is welded in to the exhaust further down the pipe than on non-import NSRs, then reweld the pipe back up.
That fully derestricted it and its now good for 105 on a good day!

Cheers

I'm needing to change the plug on my bike, never done it before.

Does it just unscrew? Also what should i be looking for colour wise on the plug?

Just pull off the HT lead then use a spark plug spanner to unscrew it.

Yes it unscrews like a bolt.

Ideally it should be a nice light brown colour.

When screwing it back in, screw it in by hand till its as tight as you can get by hand (without the ratchet) and then give it a quarter turn in with the ratchet. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
