 |
|
ok. All i want to know here is, will a CBR600rr get me to work and back everyday, rain or shine, summer or winter, and still give me lots of fun at weekends? In other words, is it as reliable bike as well as being fun to ride?
I'm not really looking for other bike suggestions, just the CBR. Cheers fellas.
P.S. Would be nice to hear from people who actually have a CBR600rr and use it as an everyday bike. |

I used to commute 50+ miles a day on my RR...and in the winter too. Unfortunately, it wasn't reliable enough to sustain a T-boning from a Fiesta...although it is fixed now. </bitterness>
Have you sat on one or ridden one yet? Check that you agree with the seating position first. I personally didn't find it too radical, but it's the kind of bike that you are perched on, rather than sat in. ____________________ TiN

Hmm, 5' 5...so have you sat on/ridden the RR yet? 'Cos you might need to look into lowering it for more comfort. I'm 5'9 and can put both feet flat on the floor when sitting on the bike, but I'll be on tippy-toes when backing it up etc...Just one thing to bear in mind.
In terms of whether your commute is good or bad for the bike - what kind of roads/conditions do you encounter in your 15 mile trip? ____________________ TiN

I have just gone from a 125 to a restricted 600rr, It is very easy to ride, and I use it every day into and out of work on a 36mile-round-trip. It is soo much easier to ride than the 125 was, and has really inspired confidence.
Seat is a little hard, and I am 5ft 11 and can easily stand up with the bike beneath me. Dunno about 5ft 5 though, but dont let that be the decider, you could always get it lowered.
Or just remove the seat, you wouldnt tell the difference! ____________________ 05 ZX10R, (**05 WKR) |

Hi
Depends on the Honda. CBR would probably be better than the RS (more powerful charging system, bigger battery, etc), but will still suffer eventually. NSR would probably be worse than the RS.
It is also possible that the alarm you have is faulty or not installed correctly. Many modern alarms go into a very low power sleep mode when the battery voltage drops too low.
All the best
