Right, holed downpipes, buy some new ones off egay.

https://i9.ebayimg.com/03/i/00/a8/31/c6_1.JPG
That was about a fortnight ago, yesterday i ranted at him about lack of turning up etc, so he alledges he sent another unit. Ok fair nuff. Turns up at 8.30 this morning, happy days.

Except its not, because the fucker doesnt fit in the fucking least. Just had to file off a weld bubble from the actual manifold piece Rolling Eyes
The welds look like they were done by the village idiot who was being done up the arse at the time. Not consistent in the least, all over shiteness.
Also, in the pic you see what i thought it would look like, however mines dull, scratched etc.
He forgot to send the gaskets i had ordered to go with it in the original bloody order.
Oh and to top all that, it doesnt fit. Manifold pipes are too close together, the fucking flanges cant even lie parallel but actual overlap, and you cant fit the support in with the original cush/bush thing (i should no, ive just ripped mine trying).

Absolutely fucking ridiculous. So once again, complete fucktards have robbed me of my bike in glorious weather, and i have to walk to work in this oprressive heat. Just because they cant fucking do what they promise.

Oh and im now going to have to chase up my £203 i sent the shitter. Power seller means so fucking much doesnt it Rolling Eyes

I've found some other on ebay for £190, actually look like they might fit aswell Rolling Eyes
here

Whats the general consensus for this eejit? Takes two weeks to send me a part that doesnt fit, quite patently. So perhaps if i threaten to simply buy all his buy it nows and negative straight away if he doesnt refund straight away, leaving me to buy this other pipe and harass that home in something resembling good time. Wankers Rolling Eyes

My first bit of advice is to calm down. Yes, it is very easy for me to say, but I have been in very similar situations, and they were all resolved by some mature exchange of communication.

Write or call the guy and let him know that the pipes don't fit. He could easily have made a mistake - give him the opportunity to rectify it. I imagine that he'd treat you with a lot more respect if you toned down your aggression, and be rational about it. By all means mention the situation that you are in (i.e. bike is only transport, missed a few good weather days etc...), but try to keep them as passing comments instead of outright blame.

If you can't get anywhere with him for a few days (though bearing in mind the bank holiday weekend), then send a message to Ebay.

Just a question though - don't companies like Micron make replacement downpipes for about £200? And you can get them from mainstream dealers like Demon Tweeks etc...

Yep... But they are performance and so would require rejetting.

Would rather avoid that if poss.

Also to amuse me, i spent 112 on a can ive now spotted to have multiple flaws, and then a day after it arrived i spotted a full micron system for my bike for 150... oh and a day or so ago demon tweeks sold a downpipe system for 105.... but as id already bought this one Brick Wall

As for my email, i demanded his fone number at about 9.30-10 ish. No reply, so now ive sent him an email saying, refund me and collect your pipes and you get positive, dont and ill rape your feedback into the ground. Basically. It's like the 3rd ebay bloke in as many transactions who has fucked me over.

I have to compile a list of future hospitalisations.

No such thing as performance downpipes AFAIK, they are all the same. If they fit your model year and the end can they'll be fine, without rejetting.

Its only the can that affects those kind of things, as its the can that restricts things and when a race can is fitted makes things less restrictive. And its that which affects the mixture.

I think that only the titanium serpent downpipes are "performance" parts. The other stainless items are supposed to be direct replacements AFAIK.

What can you possibly do to his feedback that will satisfy you? If you look at most "power seller" types, with a gazillion positive feedbacks, there's always a few negatives there anyway, so it's unlikely to affect his business that much.

Good luck though, but try to chill a bit dude. As I've said, it's the bank holiday weekend, so you'll really be pulling your hair out because of the extra delay if you keep in this frame of mind.

A set of "performance" downpipes for that bike would at most be either slightly wider or use thinner metal - maybe single skin instead of double skin.
You would get a bit more gasflow through them if this is the case, but it won't make much difference seeing as you're fucking up your mixture by running a race can and not sorting the carbs anyway.

Simple lesson kids. Manufactures spend an awful lot of time and money making sure your bike carburates properly through the entire range (except 5500 rpm if they trouble at emissions testing). You are not going to improve it by fitting a race can, and carburation is a dark and confusing art. Its not as simple as going up a jet size.

Might have been out this weekend but he hasnt replied to the emails. This wouldnt annoy me usually, but theres another pipe on ebay ending very soon. I suppose i can just mail him and buy it outside of ebay, but then i really have got no comeback... Grr. The annoyance.

Hi

It is the downpipes that are the main effect. Widths, lengths, order the pipes join in, positions of the joints. All far more important than some cheap and crappy silencer that can be bolted on the end.

All the best
