Flashing lights

Something I have noticed recently is that quite a few cars have been flashing their lights at me. They have exclusivley been 'nedmobiles', crappy corsa with neons and such. Happened three times today over a trip of about 150 miles.

Now the first few times I thought they were warning me that there was a speed trap up ahead. I took it canny for a few miles and saw nothing. Now I reckon that there must be something else going on, I don't know if this is some sort of windup or what.

Anyone else been getting this?

(and before you say it, I didn't even have my headlight on today, so I was not dazzling them.)

Had that happen to me a few times yesterday. I realised a few seconds later though that it was actually the person behind me that they were flashing and not me.

Out of interest, why weren't you running with your lights on ?

I seem to get it quite alot and get very paranoid about the bike.
A few times it was because the number plate was hanging off but sometimes I can't figure it out.
