....In Exeter.

Drove into town today, and was following this big industrial type flat bed lorry. The usual dusty dirty worn out looking thing. And to complete the stereotype it was pissing Diesel everywhere.

Well it so happened that he was parking up near where i was headed (they are doing building work next to the post office, which is where i needed to go).
When i came out of the PO, the truck was still there with a steadily growing wet patch beneath it.
Luckily a passing plod was on hand and i notified him of the unsafe/dangerous vehicle.....he went and took down all the details of the vehicle and spoke to some of the other builders on the site.

Hopefully my actions have led to some kind of fine, the repair or removal of the truck or at least something.
The rate at which this thing was losing petrol,im surprised it gets more than 5 miles to the tank!

As it is, it probably came to nothing. I should have just flicked a fag into the diesel and blown the fucking thing up. (im not sure how flammable diesel is...i get the impression of not very)

I just dont understand how trucks can get away with being on the road in such disrepair!?

You can drop a match into a container of deisel and it will simply go out!

And you mentioned deisel then you mentioned petrol.

Was this truck duel fuel? Very Happy

I noticed some diesel on a roundabout near here a day ago.
Who am I supposed to report it to if this happens again ?? (Rain has since washed it away)

It would have been fine for cars, but it was right in the path of bike tyres, if this makes sense..??...

It wasn't a huge amount, but I guess it only takes a small bit.

If you do report it, do 'they' care and do something about it ??

Id assume a diesel spill would come under an obstruction of the highway, so id be tempted to phone the local plod, at best they may be able to cordon off the road?

Yep, phone the local police and they will come out and clean it up. If they don't and there is an accident after it's been reported, they are in the shit Very Happy

Certainly around our way they are very good for cleaning it up. However it doesn't matter how quickly they clean it, if they don't do spot checks on lorries/vans then they will never stop it happening.
