Ok, so a couple of weeks ago, I was on my way to see a mate and happened to come across a very large branch in the road, too late to do anything about it (yes I was riding too close to the car in front), I went over it and my thought was 'oh well, I am gonna go down' - miracuslously I didn't !

But I have spent a very large amount of time worrying about crashing since I started this whole biking malarky, and, when it came to the crunch, I was quite calm and collected, kind of an inevitable feeling really Confused

Dunno if it would be the same if I had been doing 80mph at the time Shocked

So what where your thoughts when you came off your bike the first time ?

Sky, Track, Sky, Track, Sky, Track, Sky, Grass, Sky Track, Sky, Track, Sky.
Got up looked around thinking where the fuck am I, and where the fuck is my bike. Spot bike screem to him in my lid asking if he is ok, then run towards him dropping lid glasses and gloves on the way. All i could think about was the bike, ignoreing the buring sensation in my hand.

Help, I can't see, I can't breathe, everything has gone black and cold!

*Frantically gouges at densley packed snow inside nasty 1970's full face helmet minus pop-stud visor*

Well how was I to know the snowplough driver would have given up just round the corner? It was my 16th birthday, it was January and I was riding my bloody moped up and down the road, snow or not. Came round a corner flat-oot (20mph uphill) and ran straight into a 4 foot snowdrift. Moped stopped dead, I didn't. No damage to rider or vehicle Cool

like you. i just thought

"oh dear, time to find out what a crash is like."

enjoyed it so much i repeated the endaevour a total of four times in 12 months. those were the days. (i had a years ncd before that too!)

pretty much the same each time. "oh great". "oh no", and my personal favourite, "i cant believe i made it......no i didnt"......BANG, "ow ooo eee" scrape slide, stop. "flippin eck, don't believe i flippin crashed again, that bikes flippin cursed...." and so on

My thoughts when I first came off my bike...
.
<unconcious>
.
Um. I'm lying on the ground. What's going on? Where the hell am I?
.
<unconcious>
.
Shit. I must have crashed. Oh, my bike's over there.
.
<unconcious>
.
"Is my bike okay?" That's not good, I'm incapable of moving.
.
<unconcious>
.
And so on until I came round properly in hospital. Fun. Rolling Eyes

All the others have been "Oops! Not again!"

My thoughts on my first offing were along the lines of "well this is going to hurt. I hope the bike isnt to smashed up"

second was "ive overboiled this corner, which bugger parked that toyota in my way, bugger its going over on the same side as my brand new micron....."

third was along the lines of "well i was thinking of streetfightering it anyways....."

No its the realisation of the subsequent financial outlay that is the most painful aspect for most!

The NHS is free, bike parts cost alot of money.
