For my cagiva. I don’t need any answers saying “do it yourself with vinyl and a staple gun” as I want a proper moto-x style with grippy side panels.

I’ve looked and looked, but I can’t find this site I found ages ago.

All I remember about the place that does them was that it was £30 with extras for logos and multi colours etc. They had a brochure in pdf format that you could download.

If anyone has some moto-x / sm / enduro mags the advert will be in the back of them.

Thanks.

DK motorcycles charge £40 for a seat to be re-covered. Why dont you try your local motorbike dealer or ask an aunty if she knows of a sowing shop that do stuff like that, or even somewhere that re-cover pillows and sofa's

You could always buy some vinyl and do it yourself?? All you gotta do is staple it on and trim the excess....

(SORRY couldn't resist Mr. Green )

Funny enough i was going to ask this same question...

[semi thread-jack]

My bike seat is probably the only real bad point, seeing as i do use it for distance, the problem is its too soft, so i'm pretty much just siting on the plastic pan underneeth, not comfy..

Has anyone had a go at remolding their seat? As far as i know you get your seat (i was thinking of getting one from a breakers in case i mess mine up horribly) remover the cover, cut out the foam you don't want, replace it with firmer/softer foam, sculpt it to the right shape, then add a layer of softer foam, do the same, then one more on top maybe.. joined with glue, then recover with the ol staple gun..

Does that sound right?

[/threadjack]

You might just be able to buy a whole new seat for that price tbh, are you replaceing it for tart value or is it ripped? corbin make cool seats, theres plent of other companys makeing them too...

Its starting to rip on one side and its got a tear in the back where i had to hide in a bush from the nasty car with the Police's on the roof.

The bike is rare and the odd seat does pop up on ebay, but they're always the wrong colour.

Even if i could get a replacement one for that price, i doubt i'd be able to get it in the UK. You can't even buy pannels for it.

We got the Bandits seat reshaped with a Gel insert by P&P seating in Birmingham. About £120 though.

All the best

Re-cover it yourself with interwoven strips of lorry inner-tube and a staple gun. You will find nothing grippier.

In fact, the CG125 seat we've got was upholstered with some vinyl and a staplegun in the factory! Very Happy

Oh yeah, I am sure everyone knows this, but if you are sculpting foam for a saddle, the best tool to use is one of those reciprocating electric carving knives. Goes through foam like butter, it is what professional upholsterers use.

From motorcycle seat works. (link above)

£55 all in. Expensive, but it's just like the original one. Small problem with a crease forming though.
