FIRST OF ALL WELCOME TO BIKECHATFORUMS Wink

PLEASE CAN YOU TURN CAPSLOCK off Very Happy

Right, have you followed the guides on nsr125.com ? Look in the exhaust for the restrictor. look in the carb for the plate. if neither are there, then your bike is full power or CDI restricted. where is it from?

Where are you in the Uk as well?

Mine was the same mate. Mine is an import from Budgerigar Islands. I had to remove the exhaust restriction and inlet plate as indicated on nsr125.com and then I had to disconnect the speedo (located under the clocks). This made my bike do approximately 105mph. Before I removed the speedo drive my bike did about 78mph, and this has seen it do 100mph easily on flat roads all the time.

Hope this helps, feel free to pop back in if you need any further help.

Hey, I had a similar problem (mine was from italy though), I just fitted a derestriction item from hein gerricke.
Its a special little shiny blue thing that fits under your speedo, after I fitted it my bike was approximately 1.6 times faster than it was before I fitted it.

only £25 too, well worth it. Very Happy think it must by-pass the speedo restriction that is on most import NSRs.

I had to change the speedo, which does both of scooby's and stew's points above, and on some, you have to buy a new throttle. This enables you to rev the bike more, and hence go faster.

I cant remember where I got mine from, I think it might have been Riossi. Not all of the shops sell them, and i dont think it is an "offical" item.... under the counter job if you know what i mean

It may also be worth considering getting some new 'flush mount' indicators. I added these to mine and I get an extra 2-3mph out of mine because of the reduced wind resistance.

Change the grab rail, for a single seat conversion. If done correctly, and your not too fat, and you have a small helmet, it can also add to your speed. The NSR was in fact modified in design to allow this to be part of the speed restrictions, as can be demonstrated in a wind tunnel. The wind actually provides drag due to the angle and size of the handle.

A cheaper solution is just to remove the handle.

Well, everyone knows now.

Also, if you modify the numberplate into a spolier, it goes faster due to extra grip

if you replace the powerband, then it is likely to snap as it doesnt have enough strength to hold a larger band.

you can put a bigger spark plug in to make a bigger spark.

The easiest way to streamline a bike is to streamline the ride. Don't wear loose/baggy jackets and trousers. One piece leathers are much better than a pair of leather pants and Gortex type jacket if you want maximum speed. Tuck behind the fairing in a racing crouch and grip the tank with your knees. Make sure your toes ar as close into the footrest and frame as possible. Slowly move back along the seat until you feel your body taking the least amount of battering from the wind. Keep the left hand tucked into the forkleg or put it behind your back, this will help take your left shoulder out of the breeze.

It is trial an error with each bike/rider combination...

I prefer sitting in a small, streamlined and hermetically sealed trailer behind my bike. This is attached to the rear axle using 2 triple strength powerbands. You can then drive the bike remotely by tying lengths of fishing line to the 5 major controls. Make sure you feed the fishing line through the one-way valve into your trailer *before* you are sealed in. Oh, and do remember to keep your breathing very shallow...

Using this method, I have attained speeds well in excess of 32.6 miles per hour.
