Croft BSB : our big day out!

hey guys.

First off a very big thx to keith + family and dodsy without which none of this would have been possible.

Arrived at the circuit and was quickly whisked off to the vip area dorna had set up (Dorna = bsb organizer), got signed in and welcomed by a variety of people from bsb, virgin yamaha and bennetts insurance.

Pits opened up and we took a walk through there looking at all the riders and bikes etc, only to go back to our marque to find JAMES HAYDON!! and TOMMY HILL!! waiting for us or rather waiting for natasha .

I sat down whilst she cavorted with them half a dozen press took a load of pics and we were straight into a private interview (got it on video will post it shortly).

After the interviews were over we were taken to the pit lane again to meet the safety car drivers and doctors and watch a couple of races. The sound of those bikes coming by u at 160mph with little more than a concrete wall between us was fecking awsome!!!.

After the first R6 cup race finished we were invited into the safety cars and were literally thrown around the track , the guy driving the car i was in was happy to just cruise around until natashas driver came flying buy us giving the single finger salute , pedals were then floored , easily the most fun i have ever had in a car!. (all on video posted shortly)

After that we were ushered to the end of the pitlane where the photographers stand to watch the bsb race, GREAT FUN!!! only down point was i turned off my camera just as john reynolds came off rather comically right in front of us . Had to feel sorry as he walked by kicking anything he could find mind.

Watching john reynolds go bye was a blessing as i noticed stood next to me was Ron haslam , cant believe i didnt spot him sooner. Nice guy.. but being that he was there to watch his son i didnt think it would be right to stick a camera in his face, so i sneaked a pic from a few feat away and left him too it.

Went back to the tent and was fed loads of free posh food, sat next to mary ann hobbs (radio one dj + wsb presenter) who was happily screaming at the monitor at the boys racing the 600 supersports .

For the second race we met up with keith and dodsy and kinda floated around untill the rest of the day.

Some good photos. I didnt get many on the actual race day, was too packed & I was too cold to take my hands out my pockets. Glad you had a good day and I speak for both myself and dodsi when I say we were happy to help out. Was nice to meet you both and I'm sure we'll probably bump into each other again at some point.

Good to hear you got back safe and sound.

Its no problems.

Hope I didnt scare you with my riding abilities (apart from when I first used jedi mind controll tricks on that cager who was wanting to pull out on us, and when that failed I just called him a tosser!)

Glad you had a good time.

I got best of both worlds...5hrs at work and 4hrs at croft...oh and I didnt pay to get in.

(how the fuck does someone my damn size "sneak" into an event like that?)

I forget to mention that we spent all day with Claire Scholey as well, the winner of Biker Babe, and she's a lovely girl - pretty and great to get along with, and clearly loved bikes to bits! Her mum was friendly too which was cool!

I had this ginger bastard and what looked to be his ginger sodding kid sat infront of me constantly leaning on my knees...

Not lost, just colder/wetter and about 20 minutes later.

The safety car vid is quite good, will come in handy for those who want to know the circuit, (say for a track day.) Obviously its not showing the racing lines, but still gives a good view of the entire track. Think I'll save it for when I race there in the next couple of months.
