Going2Fast - Cheers for doign the search, I havnt passed yet, Will hopefully pass end of this year / early next year ( im 17 in december:) )

I just wonna see what sort of bikes ill be on the look out for, possibly buy a damaged one and make it a lonf term project tilll i take my test.

A few supermotos are under 33 HP as standard, like the 350 singles. Believe it or not, this 625 KTM supermoto is under 33HP. Due to some crazy regs, it has to be restricted for emissions purposes. I believe that it is either electrical or a smaller mainjet in the carb (when fully derezzed, expect 55 or so HP). Point aside, this would be legal to ride at 17.

but, the bike must have a power-to-weight ratio worse than 0.16kW/kg
so, effectively, a 33hp bike must weigh at least 156.25kg and that's why some unrestricted 125s or some supermotos aren't legal for new riders despite having 33hp or less (they're too light - cos light bikes are less safe obviously)

The Beta Alp, and supermoto 400, that both use the DR350 engine are in this class. Also the older 2stroke trailbikes in 200cc form fit this class, but their power to weight ratio, i think is too high for the restricted license limit.
