I think I see it now , after a 17YO on my street oggled my bike again he said how do I get a licence , I told him do it ASAP as 2008 tests get much much harder (off road super centres and stuff like that)

Then it sort of clicked , bike tests will be harder not just for safety concerns but for the road pricing strategy , in that bikes are generally invulnerable to forward facing camera systems like ANPR.
And are difficult to capture for the London congestion charge.

It also seems anedotally at least that bikers are much more likely to hack bits off their bikes and add stuff on hence black box? = e hack it out or reroute the fuel supply avoiding the governor much like kiddies on mopeds do all the time... Evil or Very Mad

So heres what I think that the government knows us bikers can escape such systems and therefore hates us so much that they want to reduce our numbers substantially with an impossible bike tests and police orders to get us banned Mad and thus get us into cars since there are huge problems (as above) with making bikers adopt black boxes.

So that in the meantime while cars get £1.34 charge bikers get some substantial but flat charge.

Anybody think there is merit to my pattern of thought?

In short, no.

The new test was devised by the motorcycle training body (whatever the hell they are called), and not by some suit in whitehall.

For sods sake don’t give em any ideas

But in truth the Test for cars and bikes could do with been made harder and covering more. The car test is a joke you can take it in a little Fiesta and drive of alone in a sports car or worse that fucking huge Chelsea tractor with not the slightest idea how big it is.

I want to see people on bike I also what them to stay alive a long long time.

So the test dose needs to be harder all around for bikes and cars with retesting for older drivers and any one at all that collects the interest of the traffic police.

FFS you don’t even cover motorway driving in the test yet how many millions of miles are covered every day on the UK network?

I also think any new driver should have to pass a basic first aid course just to get the number of people with the skills up in the UK.

Enough of my ranting charging per mile will not work to many people will fiddle or just ignore it. And the people old enough to remember the pole tax will have a very good idea what I mean.

The bike test is reasonably hard, in the fact that it is different stages, CBT, theory and then test.
