I've been toying with the idea for a while. Get a dyno printout someone else has made, scan it, edit it, print it out, crumple it up and say it came with the bike.

If plod wants to get oyur bike dyno'd , spray the air filter with half a ton of WD40 so it runs like crud before it gets done lol

my XBR500 restriction breaker was easy to cover up, ihad the german market 25kw throttle assy (yes really thats how they were restricted....) handy.

Its for the purpose of telling the insurance company so i guess i'd need some form of proper paperwork?

The problem is i'm looking at a vfr750 project. The thing being i'm 21 and havent passed my test yet but when i do i'm gonna need it restricted or the insurance companys wont touch me, Well for less than £1500 if im lucky.

The insurance company won't lower its premiums just because of a restriction. You will more than likely be charged the going rate for that category of bike regardless.

I might be selling my 33bhp restrictors, and was wondering if they have to be fitted by a dealer to prove if they were done.

Can the certificate be transerred to someone else like a V5?

Is a dyno printout enough to prove it is restricted, as opposed to a certificate?

The 33bhp don't have to be fitted by a dealer.

Some companies offer official "looking" documents, but they have no legal standing, they are not a requirement. The 2 washers are literaly about 30ps worth on the ER5 and took instigator about 20 mins to fit.

A dyno print out is fine for some insurers.

To be honest, mine couldn't give a toss, they weren't interested, they only wanted to see my license.

The police would have to dyno your bike, has anyone heard of this happening?

To be honest its a stupid rulling, in the Netherlands, you are restricted to what you can ride by your age, I don't know the exact figures but something like max 500cc to 25, etc.

That way it would be easy for a copper to see if you were being naughty or not.

i am doing the das, just thought restricting the bike might make insurance cheaper.

the vfr is on ebay and i'll probably lose the auction but i thought that the bike might be a nice place to start.

all it needs is forks and a buckle sorted and i'm away.....

doesnt make any difference i afraid, still costs the same to repair if you crash.

i was thinking about just not getting mine restricted, but im not sure, if i do crash im gona be rearly screwed, think ill buy restrictors and get a dyno jet, then see if the restrictors fall off
