Waht do you think of these, i wanted something to look good on the VFR....

I didnt really want to spend over 200 quid.

I have been finding it hard to get mail order places on the net, a lot of looking but no buying.
Anyone help???

Have you tried Hein Gericke in Cheltenham Killa?

I was in there a couple of weeks ago and they had a sale on some 1 and 2 piece leathers.

Do they fit you?

Ill fitting leathers can sometimes make some injries worse as armourer can mover around and heighten impacts.

You'll look a hell of a lot worse on your vfr with a few bones sticking out of the leathers .

Nice enough, the only problem with 1 piece leathers is that they will break in to fit the rider, stretch and the knees, elbows, arse, etc. You could do with them fitting nice and tight and think of all that sweat soaked in from someone else!

Try Hein Gericke or Busters used to have good deals on Texport Podium 1 piece leathers in the back of their catalogues, might be worth a call to see if they have anything similar.

have you brought leathers before?
I brought my first set about a year ago, you really need to try them on as with normal clothes every company does a slightly different cut.

Its best to find a size you like and is comfortable then you can order from where ever.

I tried on loads of leathers as i was buying them for track use, some of them like spyke felt amazing, but a lot of leathers are classed as a 'one' crash suit as they are constructed for comfort and thin etc.

I ended up getting swift for £200, as ok they look naff but they are very thick and armoured well, a few racers told me to get them as a first set as they last a lot of crashes, due to being strong but hopefully i dont have to test them out!. So i think they are good value for money.

The ebay leathers look ok but you dont know if they are good quality, strengthened stitching etc, without seeing them.

Here is a pic of the latest designs, the old ones have been reduced to around £200 they are more florissant in colour

Thanks a lot for the info ppl, I have about 200 quid to throw at leathers, I want red/black but I am not keen on the Tribal Heine Griekee (spelling) ones.
The next set they have in Cheltenham are around 400 quid.
Some one gave me a link to RST (I think).

Were it me, I would get to a big store; Like J&S or infinity etc, try on as many leathers as possible.

Then have a look around on the internet for deals maybe?

But, <shrugs>, it's not my body (and I do need a new set myself, so can't criticise too much ).

The likleyhood of those leathers fitting you as they should, is remote at best, if you can not try them on, don't do it! you will regret it. Go to M&P or some where like that and try on loads of makes and styles, this way you will get what you want. I would also strongly recommend seperates, you will get more seasonal wear from them, and can mix them with textiles for those sunny days or long tours.

well since every set of leathers or just the bottoms of a 2 piece never fit, i think i need something like crowtree, or am i just not looking hard enough??

ive looked at all the stores leathers from cambridge to peterburo' and all in between. looked at alot at the bmf aswell, but they were either too big or too small, as i have short but big muscular legs and a largeish ass(think black females:))

Crowtree start from about £500, so if you can afford it, definitely go for it - you'll get better leathers for the money as well as being a really good fit.
