Braided Hoses???

Guys (and Gals!)

I wanna fit braided lines to the Bandit, just a quick question to help, I know you bleed the system from the calipers first then what do you have to do?

Do you just keep pumping the brake lever until the fluid is all gone then refill or refill while your pumping?

I know you have to get rid of any air bubbles, but does this clear the second caliper(as the bandit has two front and rear calipers)?

Any help or guides you know of appreciated.

Hi

Fit the braided hoses. Then fill the master cylinder with fluid and bleed each caliper in turn. It WILL take ages to bleed through with empty hoses. Do not let the fuild level drop in the m/c too much or it will draw air into the hoses.

There are all sorts of tricks for bleeding hoses. They will all help sometimes. Such as:-

Bleed the brakes through and then leave the lever tied back to the bar over night
Use a syringe to try and push fluid in from the caliper bleed nipple
Leave the bleed nipples undone and try and let fluid drain through overnight.
Pull the lever and then crack the top banjo bolt off and then back up again.
Pull the lever by a very small amount and release. You will see air bubbles rise in the m/c. Repeat this a few times until the bubbles stop. Leave it 5 minutes and try again.

By the way, brake fluid is nasty to paintwork. If you get it on the paint (try and avoid doing so) wash it off quickly). Also use a fresh can of fluid.

i have a distilled water bottle i nicked from school, but any squeezy bottle will do. fit a bit of narrow tube onto the bottle, you might have to tape it to seal it, and fit the other end onto the open bleed nipple, while the bottle is pressed together. this will create a mild vacuum which draws the fluid down the tubes.
