As you might expect for JC, it was very biased.

(Presume it's the one that's been on before, I aint got sound on this PC)
Look at the R1 rider; not even getting his knee down despite sticking it out a fair way. He may just be a crap rider, but I would guess it's more that he has cold tyres, so can't push the bike too much, while the car doesn't need hot tyres really; and they're probably hot after the first power slide anyway.

Agreed. Even then, I wonder how many takes they had to do till the car won.

yeah definately biased there! I demand a rematch Surprised something you all may be interested to know is when I went to the Aussie superbikes, the super stock class ( 600's with only a race can and Dunlop D208RR's ) managed a 1 minute and .03 of a second lap time but the Aussie V8 Supercars only ran 1 minute and 2 seconds these V8 Supercars develop 700+ Horsepower at the wheels which are 335mm wide and if a almost stock 600 with street/track tyres can beat them by almost 2 seconds then a standard Porsche has no chance against a stock 600 nevermind a litre bike!

Okay heres a definitive answer.

Straight from the British Superbike Website:

Croft lap record 2004: John Reynolds Suzuki 1:21.245

And straight from the British Touring Car Website:

Crof lap record 2004: Anthony REID GBR MG ZS 1:25.494

Twisted Evil ...or do they race different tracks?

Then there is the other fact that a GSXR1000 is less than a Ford Ka to buy, and plenty of people on here own one, ofcourse.

So what would win between that 'molser' and a 'Moto GP' bike. And the race between the Mosler vs Ducati was the Ducati race tuned or was it a standard Ducati.

It didnt look like Neill was trying to hard on the bends, I've seen them look faster on the cool down lap after a race tbh but at the end of the day if Clarkson was involved the bike was never going to win and make it on the air/video because we are all clearly homosexuals that wear leather.

Best/fastest car in the world will always beat a bike on a track, 4 phat tyres vs 2 skinny ones, 4 massive brakes vs 2 (back would do bugger all under heavy braking).

It's still nice when you see a sub £10k bike beat a £100k+ car though

Yes! Now if someone builds a bike that is so good it costs £40,000 standard, then we can race it against a damn Porsche and see what the outcome is. Until then, we'll quarter the bikes time to account for the cost!

One of the big 'pros' for bikes it that you can buy a bloody good bike and still get change for under £10k on a new bike.

Once you add money you don't really add that much and definitely not anything that us mere mortals could make much use of I would have thought.

I don't think it would've mattered if they had Maurine (?) from that program about learner drivers in the car, and Valentino Rossi on the R1, the car still would have won in that program. Razz

It wasn't 'that' particular Mosler that did the test. The Mosler on that site is the race car that I work with. The Mosler that did the test was the road version. I should have used the roadcar website. Which is...

www.moslerauto.com

That will give you the version that went up against the Ducati, whic was a road version 999 (IIRC). It was on 5th Gear I think.
