Correction. They are a French company that sells dried camel dung mixed with weasel piss, rolled in paper and masquerading as cigarettes. They are only smoked by French farmers wearing hooped shirts and a beret whilst riding motorised bicycles or pretentious students of literature or philosophy.

The students only smoke them whilst sipping a tiny little cup of coffee that cost a tenner in a pavement cafe and pretending to read a book they bought because they thought people would be impressed by the title... They smoke malbro lights and drink nescafe from a soup mug if they think no one is watching.

They also own Fortuna cigarettes as well (hence the Yamaha teams last season were Fortuna Gauloises Tech 3 Yamaha (Melandri/Abe) & Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha (Rossi/Checa)).

All this talk of foreign fags reminds me of a few brands I'd rather not try again, such as Gitanes. I had a pack of these about 5 years ago and found them to be quite foul. I stuck them in the bottom of my bag and promptly forgot about them, only to come across them a couple of years later (I don't empty bags out much) when I was skint and in a desperate need of a smoke. I managed 1/2 a tab before I chucked the lot away and went without for 3 days. That, my friends, is how bad Gitanes are. Ducados, I think, from Spain were on a parity in terms of unsmokeability, you had to tip them back a bit as you smoked them otherwise the tobacco (which seemed to be black for some reason) would just fall out the end.

Just noticed. There is someone on the forum called "gauloises".

For the record I would like to state that I was not referring to gauloise the person as a piece of mustelid-urine soaked, camel dung. Laughing

I now realise I must have been a target consumer back in the days I used to smoke, I used to smoke all the brands now featured on MotoGP bikes including Camel!

Kinda gives hope to his chances of him riding for Ducati then. Apparently Marlboro are ready to through a humongous amount of money at Ducati and Rossi if they can get Rossi onto the Desmo. That would be great to see an Italian rider wiping the floor with an Italian Bike. Very Happy

Right as this seemed to confuse: markcatate said that he could not get onto the site due to his countries laws, well it would not let me on either, so instead of putting that I was from the UK (would not let me on) on the dropdown menu I put that I was from 'other', therefore was able to read the site.

Make sense now...?

Why were F1 banned from cigarette advertising but Moto GP aren't.
