So much fun..
I'm currnetly in the process of putting some brakes back together, while one is rethreaded ( )
I'm trying to refit the dust seals (13/grey) that were mashed while unesizeing the slideing pin (11/red).. so i put them in, push the pin through to refit and it pops out the other side.. ive tryed various way to do it and it end with the same result, the result being a knackered seal and no progress..
How in the hold feck are you supposed to get these soding things in? there dosen't seem to be enou space to physicaly fit, it makes no sense.. they do fit, theres little or no corrosion in the ridge holding it in...
Can anyone shed some light on this? or is it just the subject of a voodoo hex? ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I used a thin bolt, to allow space for the rubber boot and bolt (as the bolts marked 12/17 won't fit through with the rubber boot whilst installing them) and pushed it it through, it stretched a hell of a lot but worked, mind you the next time I tried this it split and then figured out if I pushed them through *backwards* it worked fine
Obviously a different caliper but it sounds similar to the problem I had
So install the boots then put the bolts in, hopefuly that will work. |

Ahhh... i see what you mean, i managed to get them both in, mostly by complete fluke.. the thing is the pin has a gap for the boot, but the 2nd ridge comeing out catches the boot and pushes it out through the tiny gap, not all but too much of it...
I was thinking of puting plasticine in the ridge so it can't poke it out, or putty, something like that..
Blimin eck, what a pain in the ass.. think mr honda had an off day designing these
Well two more to go
(thanks for the reply btw)
If anyone has any other sneeky ways arround this i'd still be verry happy to know ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Its been liberally plastered with copper grease, dont know if that would have the same effect? or make it worse?!...
