Hi,

When riding my bike and coming to a stop, say at lights or wherever, and the bike is idling, it sometimes makes a kind of 'tripping' noise, and the revs slow down briefly for about a second or 2 seconds, and then comes back to its normal idling revs (about 1700RPM). It doesn't always do this, and isnt really causing any problems but I am curious as to why it is doing it. It's a GS500. It started doing it since I changed the oil and oil filter (I used Castrol GPS), and also recnetly I have slightly adjusted the idle speed a bit higher. Any ideas?

Cheers, Dan

You mean when the engine idle is interrupted from its 'dadadadadada' with a 'dat-dat-dat-dat' and a slight rpm dip before resuming as normal? Hmmm, my 2-stroke has always done that, not sure if it's a problem for a 4-stroke. Must say I'm also curious as to its cause.

Yep, just like you described. It's not causing any problems really, its not cutting out or anything, just curious why its doing it. Also I get a clicking sound sometimes.
