duel disc brakes at the front

ok on bigger montorbikes you have duel disc on the front wheels. They are connected to 1 brake levers system, what i want to know is, is it possible to attach a front and rear brake in this mannor using 2 hoses converging into one?

Yes. Check out hondas CBS system.

But there is nothing stopping you running a line from your fromnt master cylinder to your rear caliper as well. Why youd do it i dont know but you could.

Thumbs Up as said Honda Combined Braking System (CBS) is probably what you're describing.
Front brake lever = front brake only, rear brake = rear+left front.

The combined braking systems have regulating valves to pass different pressures to the front and rear brakes.

I'd hate my back brake to come on with the same force I apply for the front ones Thumbs Down

Honda does it yes. But you could not do this by simply adding a hose, for the simple matter that brakes should be applied 70:30/60:40/75:25 i can't remember it exactly but it's around that. Adding a hose would create 50:50 brake bias, so every time you hit the brakes the rear wheel would lock up!

NOPE!!! Laughing

Front brake = outer 2 calipers on both front discs + delayed outer 2 callipers on rear disc.

Rear brake = inner caliper on rear brake + delayed inner caliper on front brakes.

The calipers are six-pot ones.... Wink

Hi

Guzzi have been using a system with the rear brake lever operating the rear caliper and one front caliper (with the front lever operating the other front caliper) for decades. Think they do use a proportioning valve.

My dad's VFR has it.

He dislikes it intensely. Personally I want to control which brake I use. And there are big threads on the VFR owners forum on how to de-link them. Which, isn't easy.

True... Same with the CBR guys... (Blackbirds)... Some like it, some don't.

Real fast guys that use their bikes on track regularly don't like it - but the opposite is that it will prolly save my but cause I'm not that good. Embarassed

Each to his/her own, I say.
