tonight i wanted to take the tank of the bike to investigate a breather pipe problem. but hand a bit of a problem turned the feul tap to off and proceed to start taking the fuel line off. some fuel started coming out, so i thought feck that! how do i empty the fuel line? do i just switch the tap switch to off then catch all the petrol in the line in a container?
cheers
WN

Turn the fuel tap off and run the engine until it uses all the petrol up (well that is if your bike is still in one piece)

Like above there will be a TINY amount of petrol in there, won't do any harm, infact it might clean some stuff for you Smile

If it bothers you, just use a small bowl or something to catch it in and put it back in the tank. It might seem like a lot, but it isn't really. Besides, it has wondrous cleaning effects on the grime on the crankcases. Smile

I keep a bucket for brake fluid and all sorts of nastys and just let it go in there..

Running the bike on the off position works great though..

Try not to make a habit of getting it on your hands, its very bad, not just for your skin but worse things too. Same goes for oil...
