I always use wet wipes, even keep some under my seat when I'm out.
There also uselful for taking off the bugs on the front of your bike when you get home before they dry on.
If it's good enough for a babys bum it's good enough for me. ____________________ the undemocratically unelected mod of the Scottish section |

Meh, i HAD to clean my visor last night, as it nearly killed me numerous times in the low light, and my eyes still sore from a direct hit.
Used Focus's sugaring solution i think it was called, either way weird yellow detergent. Come up loverly.
I personally would rather risk a slighter weaker helmet then career head first into a truck because i got blinded by the light right at the apex when booting it. Believe me, its hard. Flys seem to refract the light and dazzle you to fuck. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |

Well if you are going to use a detergent avoid getting it on the actual helmet as it's best not to weaken that. Be safe kids |

And so a myth is born. I somehow doubt that helmet designers would really be so short sighted that the use of mild household detergents would weaken and damage their helmets and visors. Use bleach or caustic soda or something, then perhaps it might, but I doubt baby wipes or washing up liquid will do any damage whatsoever.
Anyway, Shift-it spray is pretty darned good at removing insects. It's best when you get HG to throw it in for free. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

I tend to take the visor off and use warm water and washing up liquid.
I always forget to do it though until I'm actually on the bike and half way down the street.
Back in 5 minutes once I've done it. Thanks for reminding me |
