Well, I've been bikeless for a good few weeks now and it's just starting to bug me alittle... Evil or Very Mad

I was kinda in the process of trading my car in for a newer TD car but now I'm thinking of just selling the car, and getting a bike for everyday use.

Never used my old bike for commuting before but the traffic in the morning is bloody awful and I'm getting jealous seeing bikes pass me while I'm sat in the car...

So should I just become an all round year biker? Part of me says yes but the sensible part also says I should buy that Passat I'm looking at Embarassed

My girl says she'll even put cash towards getting me a new bike and we can use her car for going places when the bike isn't suitable!

Cash permits that I can't have both car and bike just now so..... Confused

What should I do??

Hi

Having the choice of using a car when it is really dodgy weather is useful.

Personally I would be tempted to go for a bike to use everyday and then pick up a cheap car for occasional use. Something like a Fiat Cinquecento can be bought for next to nothing, would be cheap to insure and tax and is simple to work on.

All the best

Keith

with it being summer now, i personally would say you only need a bike (wot with the girlfriends offer n all)
if when when it starts getting cold you want a car. get one. your choices as i see it are:

nice bike, no car (for the moment)
nice bike, older car (not a nice passat)
average bike, average car
lame bike, nice car
really nice car, no bike

its up to you!

Sell the car you have just now. Buy the bike you want. Get a really really crappy car for when you really need one.

Take the passat mate. Thumbs Up Top cars, I love using mine...well, it's my dad's, but I have it for the whole of the summer. 1.9 TDI estate.

I'd personally take the car. Cars don't limit you to doing certain things, within reason. Car, car, car. I know you want the bike but I say hold on for a while...Smile

Passat's rock. Drive like me and you get 61mpg Very Happy
