Hi,

I've just purchased a CG125, and need to get insurance on it to ride it home.

How much should I expect to pay? I am 20, and passed my CBT a month ago.

I've had a full car license for 2 years.

Is there a good place online to get lots of quotes? Or is it a case of ringing every company i can until i get a cheap quote?

Mine was £128, TPFT, but I was 30 when I got mine.
I do not have a car licence.

I shopped around, and settled for Bennetts.
Carole Nash are supposed to be great for some..but they wanted to charge me double my other quotes ! Shocked

DO look at lots of people.

You can go to
endsleigh
bennets
carole nash

are the ones I can remember. But there's no substitute for ringing round LOADS of places - my quotes varied from £110 to £450!!!!! Just do a search on google.

I paid £120 for third-party only and then £35 to add my CG onto my insurance for 5 months (and another £80 to upgrade to fully-comp).

I'm 25, full car licence and was on a provisional bike licence, so it'll be a bit more expensive for you, but the CG is one of the cheapest bikes to insure so you won't get rinsed.

This is a joke!

I'm 20, and the best quote i can get is £393.56 so far with a £200 excess, includes breakdown cover and legal cover tho.

I found that when i got my CG. Best place i found was https://www.directchoice.co.uk/home/

Beat Bennets and Carole Nash by miles!

Worth having a look. Try calling them, i managed to get about another £50 off what i was quoted on the net.

Is that Fire+Theft? Comprehensive cover for a cg125 would be completely pointless. Tbh, even F+T would be a bit unnecessary if the bike cost less than about £700.

I paid £235 at 18 for TPO cover without any NCB, so you should be looking for less than £200. That was through CIA, though I seem to remember Honda insurance being almost as cheap.

its TPFT, the bike is costing £750, but it is worth a little more, so I've insured it for £900.

I told a few lies and got the quote down to £240 TPFT with 250 excess.

Not bad.
