Being honest Out on it ive never felt such freedom, and yes there is a bigger danger cos drivers Dont always look out for bikes. Now i reaslise what most of you guys have to deal with every day.
Despite that i wish i had done it a long time ago. Wink

well done mate. I just sold my car a few weeks ago so I now only have a bike. Over the last few months I was detesting cars more and more and loving my bike by the same amount so finally decided to ditch the troublesome car altogether.

Something that may be of interest to you (depending on where you live) is this thing called streetcar. You can basically hire cars by the hour for £5 ph. Could be very handy if you find you need a trip to B&Q or something Thumbs Up

Greetings and welcome - another newbie here getting rid of the car.

My justification is that we only have room for one car outside our house and my wife needs one to ferry the kids about (she doesn't really, they've got legs and they're old enough, but you try telling her).

Every time one of the elderly people on our street passes away, usually having not had a car, the new occupants have a car of their own and often two - so the street's full!

Other reasons:
The roads are full.
Car driving is boring.
Cars are expensive and depreciate like mad.
Mrs Sheep has a thing about leather.
