That's because it's a tuned engine, Busa engines go for a grand plus in standard form, that's got thousands of pounds of work done on it.

You're looking at a grand plus no matter what, as they all go in Kitcars. Same for any big engine, Fireblade, ZX12-R, Blackbird.

GSXR1100WR - 145bhp (allegedly) - I am still riding it, but for a reasonable amount I will let the engine, electrics and carbs go.

A friend or mine did the Busa engined Nova. Sounds wicked but thats about it! Not enough torque for a Nova really, couldn't stick with my 16v Turbo and cost heaps more to build. You could throw it into a corner slightly quicker than the 2ltr but couldn't pull you out the corner anywhere near as quick.
I suppose if it was a highly tuned Busa engine ie. 250bhp or more then yeah it would be impressive but just seems a waste of a stonking engine! Stick it in two seater like a Westfield or something if it must have 4wheels. You can build a 300bhp nova for about 2k with calibra/cavvy engines.

Sorry if i've spammed your thread!!!

To do a fast nova use a 2.0i 16v cavalier calibra or even a 2.5 carlton engine.

2.0i calibra engine in a nova goes like stink.

Yeah I agree I have seen the 2.0 16v Redtop in a nova and a Redtop turbo but I have never seen the 3.0 V6 or 2.5V6 in one. The V6 's go cheaper than the Redtops and give a fair few more HP. Thumbs Up

Say you stick one of these 2.0L engines in, wouldn't you have chassis issues?

I wouldn't like to run a 2.0 16v on your stock 1.0 Nova "Merit" suspension though.

Well you never know, could be fun. Laughing

Good brakes as well could be helpful... gonna be going a bit faster than usual.

It's not my nova already. It has 2.0 brake conversion already so it stops fine and is on £500 worth of coilovers so suspension isn't a problem.

I was thinking more along the lines of the chasis twisting due to the new power increase. Would you have to strengthen it in some way?

For a 2.0 litre you do yes. With the busa engine it will be rebuilt with a spaceframe.
