I was riding down the A40 between the Greenfrod roundabout and the Target roundabout around 6:25pm. Behind me I hear a fire engines siren, so check the mirrors..... nothing. I turned my head to look behind me........ nothing. The siren dies down and then suddenly becomes quite loud. Behind me is a fire engine speeding towards me at a very dangerous speed considering the amount of traffic. So I indicate to my left but none of the cars will make a gap. Luckily I caught up to someone on an NSR so I was able to squeeze in next to him. "Few I'm out of the way" I though.......... "hummm something feels very close to my arm" Confused.

Yes there is something close to my bloody arm..... a fire engine physically ramming me out of the way! Evil or Very Mad I'm pressed right up against the fire engine. Its brushing against my arm, twisting my wing mirror round and physically pushing me into the path of the NSR who brakes in time luckily. The car in the right hand lane that was in front of me didn't have room to move over, so the fire engine decided to swerve in front of me with no warning. This put me into a fuming rage, I tried to chase after the fire engine to try and get its number plate but all the cars were moving in close behind him and didn't get a good enough view of the number plate to remember it. Evil or Very Mad

If I had come off I would have been in serious trouble as the NSR and the cars behind would not have been able to stop in time. Damn I'm lucky to be in one piece. I will be making a call of complaint to the London Fire Brigade about the driver who was driving very dangerously. I know they have to get to where there going ASAP, but there not supposed to be putting people in danger and causing accidents.

If your the guy who was riding the blue/white/red NSR, thanks for giving me room to get over Thumbs Up and really sorry if I cut you up a little.

Sorry for the long post and rant Embarassed

Should have reported him. I know they are on an emergency call but they have to consider the safety of the road users too.

Atleast your ok, lesson learnt. If you see a big red truck, hide. Very Happy

unfortunately i don't find it a joke. an ambulance swerved into my path last january. i swerved to avoid and lost the front, ploughing into a car. my slide over a kerb on my head should have broken my neck. thankfully i only tore (sp?) muscxles in my shoulder. i had the choice of hitting a tall ambulance and dying or trying to survive and i was lucky.

i hit the car so goes down as my fault!!! gotta love it. they were helpful and stopped to help though.

Yo, i just came back from the ace and the whole of the A406 north/eastbound was close. I was coming from edgware and saw at least 2 dozen volvo estates dotted across the A406 and at least 3 fire engines. I guess the accident happened THAT early then?! At 9PM, the traffic at the Hanger Lane system was mad. So i can only assume that the big red truck going down the A40 was going to attend the catastrophe on the A406 at Neasden. I guess it was that reason + the bad weather that meant that very few actually went to the ace tonite Confused

Well I have called the london fire brigade switch board who put me through to someone to take my complaint. A very nice friendly sounding lady who took down all the details and my details. Also using the time and place of the insident they will be able to find out who it was Very Happy

I hope the driver gets a good punishment or forced to do more training.

Rolling Eyes

should have press for a sorry letter at the least. then you know at least someone has definately suffered instead of the "yes sir we'll feed that back to the driver!" then doing nothing.

Yeah man, i was riding an XR125. I didn't even think about going into the restaurant area itself which was rather stupid. I might have seen a fireblade on the way out but i weren't too sure. It was dark and misty so i couldn't make out who was who Shocked

We had one recently around here were fire engine en-route to a rubish fire jumps a red light and crashes into an oncoming car killing the driver.

If all fails call a friendly "no win no fee" type solicitor.
