I've chipped my lid, can anybody offer advice?

Hi guys, i just came back and realised that there was a chip on my helmet just above the visor. The upper layer of paint and lacquer has come off, but the shell and the structure are fine (apparently so upon first inspection). I believe a large stone may have caused this chip as i felt a heavy thud too big to be a bug hit that section. Now, i'm wondering what i can do to cover the epoxy void?

So far, i've masked off the area surrounding the chip and i'm just planning to spray a layer of black paint on it then lacquer it once dry(fortunately, the chip is on a section of the design where it's just a black line). At least i don't think that the spray paint will effect the epoxy resins bonding the composite layers together. I've just got a black visor for the lid so i feel that 20 quid would have been wasted if i were to buy a new lid - so new lid is out of the option. The size of the chip is about 1 sq cm adjacent to the vent, 3cm above the visor so i don't believe it poses a critical structural threat.

So i would much appreciate any suggestions to this problem.(is a respray recommended for non-polycarbonate lids - i've seen HJC site but no mention on respraying etc)

Just arry on as it is, obviously deoendant on brand et all. I have only ever changed when I famncy a tartier design!

Cheers, i eventually used some primer from a touch up kit and used the remaining black ultra high temp paint and sprayed it on, looks half decent.

As a random aside... matt helmets don't seem to chip. I've had my Shoei about 2 years now and if I gave it a clean it would look as good as new. The paint's kinda rubbery and stuff just bounces off it.
