Ok, the trip meter now says 0.5km just from me bumpstarting the lil bugger.

It kind of starts, and it has powered me a short distance just from ticking over in second.

You bump start it and it does kind of start, but touch the throttle at all and it'll cut out dead.

There is a spark, although it does look very weak, but I have very little frame of reference.

There's fuel, there's a spark, let's assume there's compression, I've had the carbs apart, they're not obviously dirty and I have cleaned the jets. The air filters are K & Ns and are clean. Brand new spark plugs.

Could it be lack of fuel? Maybe a really really dirty fuel tap?

I'm fairly stumped.

Has it been standing a while?

Have you tried new plugs?

Bad earth on the coil?

Running too rich?

Dodgy HT lead?

Stale fuel?

Dodgy HT lead is a possibility.

Its brand new fuel.

Timing could be out, is an option.

Bad earth I'd say is unlikely as there is a spark, and it's regular as clockwork, just not very strong. But as I say, I don't know if it's normal or not, as I've seen very few other sparks.

Too rich is also very possible, but I wouldn't think that'd cause these problems, I'd at least expect it to start. Unless it was ridiculously rich, which I think is unlikely.

To me it certainly sounds like something wrong with your main jets.

It would still start if its running too rich or lean, as it would be on the pilot jet.

Have the jets got numbers on them? are they correct?
