Probably been done before:

What is the shittest bike shop that you have visited?
Could be for bikes, clothes, kit, service etc. Name and shame 'em!

For me it's Motorcycles and Moore in London Colney.
Bag of shite!

Ha ha!! I read your topic title and thought... Hmmm, Motorcycles and Moore!!! Then click on it and read your post! Laughing

I'm just along the road from them (about 2 mins) and have only dealt with them on a couple of occasions, but both times they have been pi$$ poor so I'll never go back there.

1 was to try and get brake pads for my NSR250, they couldn't even do that after almost 20 mins of trying! Next time, I wanted some fully synth 2t oil and light gearbox oil, they had neither in stock but said they were getting a delivery in in a couple of days, so took my number and said they would call when its in...... No, call. Confused

Oh, also phoned them as I wanted my bike MOT'd, they said they need to book it in as it wont be done for a few days! Confused (This takes 10 mins max!!!) So I called Moore's in Hemel, they said, "Yeah, just bring it down and we'll do it there and then", so I put the phone down and rode straight there.

Wink

Probably for me Tony Jefferies Motorcycles in Warrington.

Seemed they couldn't give a shit, nor could their parts/clothing dept. So much so the whole chain went under within a few months.

They take forever to get in touch with you, even if its to say we havent forgotten about you

I Ordered an RS125 from them last year, A black one. it was 7 weeks AFTER the original due date when i got it, and it was a white one.

A friend of mine called them to ask about a part, they said "sorry, the lines too busy, im hanging up!"

When he finally managed to stay on the line, he asked about a speedo drive, and they said they had one. so when he went to pick it up, they ended up trying to fob him off with a speedo cable, and had no drives in stock at all.

Walton road garage

complete twats, most of there so called mechanics are 16y old ped boi,s who use screw drivers to leaver tyres off wheels (damaged the rims on my NSR), sales/parts staff have very little motorbike knowledge (for example they claim that £5 scooter two-stroke oil is better than fully-sysfectic TTS, because piaggio says so Rolling Eyes )

West London Suzuki

I asked to get a restrictor fitted on a Thursday about 2 weeks in advance at 11am or 2pm, can't remember exactly now. I was told that I had to wait a few hours first or come back another day because they denied that they set a time in which to fit it bearing in mind I have no transportation because I am 30 miles away from home so I had nothing to do for a few hours.

I had to return the bike around 1 hour before to let it cool down. I then got it fitted after about 5-7 or so hours. After they fitted the restrictor kit they refused to realise the original parts back to me. I sent them a letter, many phone calls. I got fed up and sort advice from the police, solicitor, CAB and BCF Thumbs Up who all said that I was in the right and went down to WLS to get the parts back in person along with the support of Danny Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

He refused at first and asked Danny to leave the shop or be removed psyhically by the shop owner. He pretty angry at this point telling by the red face and him shouting at me and Danny. Danny left the shop and I managed to calm him down so that he would give my parts back if I wrote a letter saying that I would accept all responsibility if anything goes wrong. I then had to go to the shop and buy paper, pen and scissors because the shop owner didn't give me anything. I then returned with this letter and finally got my parts back

Mayhem Motorcycles, in Aldershot... run by a pair of complete cnuts.
I brought a bike from them (2nd hand albeit) Filled it up with fuel and the tank disintergrated, and it broke down 2 days after i got another tank sorted... they sold me a perfectly road legal useable bike with a 1 month warranty and they refused to do anything about it or even contribute to the £350 of bills i incurred through having to get some one else to look at it... basically they are a bunch of cowboys... And yes i got banned form the shop and they even thretened to come round to my house "and sort me out"

Pair of wankers... PS if you 2 clowns read this... TZR250 ring any bells Wink And o yeh i will be back down there at some point to get my £350 or goods to the value of Laughing

I bought my bike from Mayhem and found them brilliant. The bike has always run really well and I found the service there was great. Still I suppose there are always going to be disatisfied customers wherever you go.

The bike bought was a SR125, those things are pretty unbreakable so I suppose that was why I was lucky. He did charge a lot of money for it though but it was my first bike so I didn't know any better. The bloke I bought it from did sound like a bit of a wide boy so it wouldn't surprise me if he was dodge.

Not to go to off topic but East Coast Superbikes in Forfar, i have mixed reactions.

The service is very good and the staff know what they are talking about

BUT

the prices are extorsionate.

Ok the bikes are priced not to bad, but parts they sell. I was looking at mini indicators, thought they were dear so looked in M&P's and they were half the price in M&P's.

AMS motorcycles in Cheltenham

Charged me £2 for a replacement bulb for my 50, when I was only 16!
And put a tyre on backwards and tried charging me a ridiculous amount for the fitting.

Motorcycle centre

In a Town called Bury , figure out the name yourselves , just my opinion BTW.

His 'new' bikes all seem to be scratched to hell , when I was looking for an GN125 (before just doing DAS and getting a bigger one) , dents in the tank , whole swathes of paint missing and lots of minor scratches on the plastic bits. And very very worn down tyres.

He also tries to sell people second hand helmets which he says are barely used, ie he keeps a very small selection of XXS helmets when people try them on they don't fit , so he says I got this one which I'll sell you for whatever , which is very obviously used , scratches all over them , chipped paint and stickers on them which cover some serious dings on them. Which you can feel through.Which you can buy new for £50 down the road he says are £300 helmets Thumbs Down

Hmm hadnt got my licence yet but went out to pick up all the gear. I guess the first mistake was mine by telling the sales assistant that I needed get kitted up and needed a few pointers.
Anyway all goes well and Im really quite happy with all of the gear picked up with one exception. I purchased a shark helmet which was I guess middle of the range but had features that I liked.
Anyway after about 3 weeks of riding the chin pad which blocks the wind draught up the front of the helmet decides to fall out on a night ride. Stuff all chances of finding it. So I figure Ill just pop back to the shop and order a new one right ??
Fcuk no it seems. The guys says they will order me one in and call me when its ready. To their credit they call the next day to tell me they have the supplier on the phone and they dont stock them in Australia.
Damn pissed at this point as one of the selling points was that they have replacable pads.
Anyway I ask the sales guy for the suppliers contact details but he says theyre on the other line and wont permit him to give them out. But they will let him give me their name and the town where they are.
Bit dirty at this point still as I figure Its not up to me to do the leg work and chase down their number.
Anyway if any of you guys know of a shark dealer or outlet near by give me a shout if ya would.

The jackass who works on my bikes! Stands around drinking beer & has the music turned up so damn loud your eyeballs revolve inside your head. Will only ever work on the bikes when HE feels like it. A right bastard to get along with at the best of times.

The major problem is I work on my own bikes & don't let anyone else near em....

Tom Conway Motorcycles, just outside of Durham.

Everyone in the shop was pure ignorant, "I know everything, you know nothing" kind of attitudes. Was just a small business with used bikes, nothing really brilliant, but I'd like to see them selling bikes with the attitude they introduced me to when I was viewing a Bandit6.

Pretty much all other bike shops I've been into locally are really good, our family are probably some of the best customers at Teasdales Motorcycles in North Yorkshire. Laughing Excellent service from the chaps down there, cant badmouth them one bit. Thumbs Up
